Glomar Kennels was first registered with the NZKC in 1983 when my parents had an interest in showing and breeding Dobernmann followed by Rottweilers and then Boston Terriers.  For my 10th birthday they decided to let me get a dog of my own choosing to show in the Junior Showmanship competitions.
I choose a Pug.

From that moment, we were addicted to the breed and for the last 22 years have concentrated on
breeding Pugs for the show ring.

We have had some great success with our dogs, not only at all breeds shows, but we are the owners/breeders/exhibitors of consistant specialist championship show
Best In Show winners over the last 5 years.

The Glomar prefix is registered with the NZKC to Mr Roy Ward and Miss Penny Ward.  We hope that this combined effort will continue to produce quality Pugs for
showing or just loving companions.

A very important member of our kennel is my mother, Mrs Elizabeth Ward, who may not be
registered to the 'Glomar' prefix but is just as active in the showing and breeding as the rest of us.

Our aim is to breed sound healthy dogs and are strong believers in the need of screening for
hereditary disorders such as HV.  We also test our Pugs eyes and monitor any issues closely.

We also aim to breed quality Pugs that are good representatives of the breed using the
NZKC Pug Standard as our guide.  We focus on breeding SMALL, COBY, COMPACT Pugs with excellent TEMPERAMENT and SOUNDNESS.  We firmly beleive Pugs should be balanced . . . heads to body . . .

We consider all show and pet homes very seriously as we aim to place all our pugs into homes
where they are going to loved first and foremost.  For this reason we screen potential homes
very seriously, providing a number of steps that potential owners must met before being
considered as a glomar pug owner.  If you would like to be considered as a Glomar Pug owner
