Today almost everybody holds the sun male,the moon female,but there is evidence that it was different.In the german language the sun is still female.There is no real proven sun god in europe.Celtic godesses such as Bridgit,Greine,Sul have a strong solar nature.In the germanic Edda the sun,Sol is also female.The Finns also have a female sun.In many parts of siberia,the sun is seen as a mother. She is also the ancestral Mother of the japanese.See shinto.
