Notes:
1. Last trip for Victory Liners to Bolinao is 10 pm; to Alaminos is 12 midnight. The problem in taking the 10 pm trip to Bolinao is that you'll get there too early. You can take the first trip instead. For more details on bus schedules you can contact Victory Liner Cubao at (02)7274534. It is advisable that you pre-purchase your tickets. Five Star Bus also has trips to Bolinao. Bus fare from Cubao to Bolinao is 286 pesos.
2. Tricycle fare from Bolinao town proper to Brgy. Patar ranges from 75-100 pesos per load (around 6 people). The road is around 15 kms, mostly unpaved. Of course, it's best if you bring your own transportation. SUVs, pick-up trucks are best for the kind of roads there. Not those Civics, ok?!
3. There's no Globe cell phone signal at Brgy. Patar. However, there are landlines at the resorts so no problem with communication.
4. The caves are not that impressive especially if you've been to Sagada, Biak-na-bato, etc. So if you're not a rookie spelunker. you can definitely skip this one. But if you'll enjoy ogling at a Rica Peralejo poster while swimming at the pool caves then it's a must for you. Hehe. We really can't get the logic of putting sexy posters, plastic chairs and tables and a Mother Mary figurine at Cindy's cave. I hope the owners/caretakers realizes that those do not blend with the natural appeal of the place.
5. The stretch of beaches going to the lighthouse provides a lot of surprises. Don't be afraid of climbing hills, passing through dense bushes, stepping on sharp coral stones especially if you hear loud splashes of water nearby. You'll be rewarded, I assure you.
6. Snorkeling is not that good. I don't even remember seeing live corals there. If you see good snorkeling spots please email me. You'll get to see lots of fish though.
7. We stayed at Bing's Beach Resort. Mr. Bing Dodson is a very accomodating host. You'll have no problem with him and his staff. Airconditioned rooms are P 1,500/night while non-airconditioned rooms are P 1,000/night. You can contact Bing's Beach Resort at these numbers: 09176977965, 09176910082.
