My gram started my first charm bracelet and ever since I was hooked.  There is something about a charm bracelet- the jingle and tinkle of it as you walk and how each charm tells a story or is a conversation piece.  My first bracelet is silver and started with an engraved initial. The additions were an embossed JFK charm, a Lincoln bust, a Santa head, a roller skate, a castle, a ballerina, the states of NJ, Idaho and NY, an Aries ram, a birdcage and a few from a vacation.  Later I collected charms on a vacation to the "south". That one has a stein, Clydsdale, cactus, tricorner hat, a sailing ship, pine cone and several from the places like Jamestown, Williamsburg and Bush Gardens. Then there are my Kirk's Folly bracelets. These charms are removable so you can mix and match to your mood. I have lots of pixies, angels and magical charms. I also have a Camelot theme bracelet and another with hearts of all styles. In addition to the multi charm bracelets I have several with just a single charm like a heart for instance. In addition I have a commemorative 20th Anniversary All My Children charm bracelet with The Boutique, the Chateau, the Book, a pine cone and The Goal Post.  Then there's the one that was my gram's. That one has 6 large charms, some as big as a dollar coin! I even have a cyber charm collection.
I have those I offer and those I have collected.

Right is the single heart on a silver bracelet. This one was my mother's. She recieved it as a gift in 1945. Left is one of many different hearts on my Kirk's Folly silvertone heart charm bracelet
Above are three of the charms on my charmbracelet that I inherited from my gram. They all have precious and semiprecious stones and are all gold. These are actual size.  It takes a real special occasion to wear this...not quite for a trip to the local grocery.
check out Kirk's Folly!!! They have many sparklies to choose from.
