Jakes '66 at RTTS
I bought my 1966, back in april 2000, i previously had a 1974 1303, (which is now in about 1,000 pieces, thanks to me, and the help of other's including Martin!) and to be honest I just bought the first beetle i went to see. This time though i knew exactly what i wanted, and old skool bug.I was extremely lucky, i had only seriously been looking for another beetle for about 1 month or so. I was looking through the local advertisment paper, and came across an advert saying. 1966 red beetle, tax exempt, original car £@@@@. I phoned up straight away, and asked a bit more about the car, the current lady owner, had owned it for about 1 1/2 years and needed somthing a bit more daily driver, and newer. I went and looked at it the next day, i was extremely surprised, and said i would have it. About 3 week's later and an even porer student, i had her back at mine.
This is a rather exciting photograph of my 66' at run to the
sun 2000, cleaned and ready to show!
This is a photograph of the clean chromed interior. Notice period accesories, such as the bambus parcel shelf, stereo, and the daisy!
