| I purchased the '78 back in july of 2000. I had always wanted a bus way before i was into beetles. This particular bus I had my eyes on since i was about four or so, because i used to go to and from school in it for a number of years! The van was infact my friends Gramps, and he had owned it since i think about 1981. I was not looking for a van particularly at the time but always said if it came up for sale, I would have to buy it, and so I did. The minute I got it home I striped it out (it didn't have an interioir, just old bits of carpet etc, and the orange all over paint was tatty. I spent the summer rubbing, stripping, working and saving, and was finished in time for the return to uni! complete with stripes front to back, and my lucky number 23! |
