Gilbertt's '61 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe
I bought this bubbletop from an older gentleman in Virginia and had it shipped out to my house. The '61 Impalas not running were going for way too much around California. He had the car for about 20 years and was in the process of restoring it for his wife as a grocery getter, but his health wouldn't let him.  I had been looking for a '61 Bel Air bubbletop for a while and came across his ad online.  He actually had it for sale as a good parts car.  He sent some pictures and I could tell the car was pretty solid.  It does have surface rust (no biggy) and also some rust through in the front pans a little in the rear wheel wells but just minor patching will be needed. I believe Chevrolet only made some 9K of this V8 Bel Air hardtop compared to 100K Impala's.  The gentelman said he had put new rear springs and new gas tank but the gas is gummed up in the tank...The car came as seen here with all the parts inside and in the trunk.  It was nice to see some new weatherstrippings still in the bags, and 2 new rear antenna's..Car is originally Ermine White with red interior..it has a 195 horsepower 283/powerglide with a 2bbl Rochester, power pack heads everything date coded to 1963...
The interior is pretty clean with exception of the rear seat.  I cleaned up the door panels and rear arm rests and after 40 years, they are still nice..Even the headliner is still intact with just a few tears that I'll patch up for now.
