The Joy of Pokémon

Tracey, Ash and Misty meet a Nurse Joy and her Chansey who kayak among the Orange Islands that don't have their own Pokémon Centers, taking care of the wild and trained Pokémon. The gang goes on her rounds to help, but when Team Rocket attacks it looks like it's all over. Then along comes a mammoth Magikarp, whom Nurse Joy saved as a baby. Seeing its friend in trouble, the Magkarp evolves into Gyarados and sends them packing.

Navel Maneuvers

The gang heads to Navel Island, so Ash can get his second badge. The Gym leader, named Danny, agrees to have a three part Pokémon match. First they each choose an ice Pokémon to see who can freeze a geyser of hot water the fastest, then they race to carve the ice into a sled first. Lastly, they sled down the mountain that the Navel Gym is on, in a race for the beach! After a Team Rocket attack, Ash takes the lead and wins a Sea Ruby Badge.

Snack Attack

Now landing on the seven Grapefruit Islands, Ash and his friends meet Ruby, a woman who grows grapefruits to make into candied peels. But a Snorlax has swum to the island and is eating all the fruit! Ash decides to try to save Ruby's groves. Snorlax, unimpressed, moves on to the second, then third island. Finally Jugglypuff makes an appearance and sings Snorlax to sleep, and Ash catches his next Pokémon right before taking a snooze!

A Shipful of Shivers

Team Rocket, stealing a trophy from a museum, tries to escape by boat. But Ash and crew on Lapras follow. They end up on a haunted ship, where a Gastly and Haunter take back the trophy. These two Pokémon belonged to an old sea captain. Long ago his ship sank in a storm. Now his ghost Pokémon guard his trophy for eternity. With Team Rocket defeated, the Gastly and the Haunter lift the ship into the air and sail majestically away.

Meowth Rules!

Meowth, separated from Jessie and James, finds an ancient culture that worships him as the Meowth of Bounty! They want him to use Pay Day to bring them wealth and happiness, but that's one attack Meowth can't do. Unknown to anyone, Jessie and James sneak in and throw coins all around Meowth, so it looks like he did Pay Day. When Meowth realizes this he remembers who his real friends are and gives up being worshipped to be with Team Rocket.

Tracey Gets Bugged

On an island filled with bug Pokémon, Tracey finds an injured Scyther who was challenged for leadership of its swam and defeated by a younger Scyther. When it hears its swam in trouble in the woods (Jessie's after them because one of them chopped off her hair!) it leaves the Pokémon Center and goes to protect them, even if it isn't their leader anymore. It's able to defeat Team Rocket and joins our heroes as Tracey's newest Pokémon.

A Way Off Day Off

Ash, Misty and Tracey are in desperate need of a vacation. When they spot an uninhabited island they decide to take the day off with their Pokémon and have fun! Even Charizard comes out for the day, but it and Scyther don't get along at first. When Team Rocket attacks to try to steal the Pokémon in the night, Scyther and Charizard stop them together. Although they're both too stubborn to admit it, they now respect each other.

The Mandarin Island Miss Match

At Mandarin Island Ash is proud of how many battle he's won. A famous woman named Prima (by her looks and Pokémon, I think it's safe to say she's actually Lorelei of the Elite Four) accepts a battle from him. After she beats Ash she teaches him that it's not just skill that makes a great trainer, but the closeness between a trainer and his Pokémon. Ash and his friends head for the next Gym wiser and ready for their next challenge.

Wherefore Art Thou, Pokémon?

Ralph and Emily each own a Nidoran, a male and a female, named Tony and Maria. They're in love! Unfortunately for the Nidoran, their trainers can't stand each other. When Team Rocket shows up and steals the two, Tony and Maria fight Arbok and Victreebel. After Team Rocket is defeated the two little Nidoran share a kiss, and then evolve into Nidorino and Nidorina! Ralph and Emily now see the error of their ways.

Get Along Little, Pokémon

Ethan's a cowboy who owns a herd of Magnemite, collecting electricity from lightning storms for cities to use. A Team Rocket attack leaves him too injured to make it to a city that has just lost power, but Ash and Pikachu jump onto the back of one of his Tauros, determined to bring them in themselves. They must fight off Team Rocket once again, and one of the Magnemite evolves into Magneton and saves the day. The city is restored to power, thanks to Ash.
