Q.
Dear Skin Care Counselor,
Can
Godiva Green Tea Transparent Soap be applied on the face? Does it
clog pores? And is it hypoallergenic, alcohol- and fragrance-free?
--Venus, USA
A.
Dear Venus,
Yes, the
Godiva Green Tea Transparent Soap can be safely used to cleanse
the face. It doesn't clog pores and is alcohol-free. It is also hypoallergenic.
However, it does have a mild green tea scent. Have confidence using it because
it contains no harmful ingredients, so you can be sure it is safe to use even
for the long term.
Godiva Green Tea Transparent
Soap contains a
super-antioxidant
from green tea extract. Antioxidants are needed to neutralize free
radicals and repair sun-damaged skin cells. The super-antioxidant in green tea
is called
EGCG.
In a recent research by Dr.
Lester Mitscher of the University of Kansas, EGCG was found to be
100 times more effective than Vitamin C, and
25 times better than Vitamin E at protecting
cells.
Godiva Natural Skin Care
products have been proven and tested to be effective, safe and gentle even on
the most sensitive skin. Have confidence using them for the long term.
We do encourage you to also try
our other distinctive Godiva products for improved overall beauty and
well-being.
Yours truly,
Skin Care Counselor

Eating right for healthy skin
It is
said that our skin is the reflection of our inner health and well-being. All too
often, a person’s current condition can be shown on his or her skin: bright,
radiant-looking skin connotes good health while ashen or pale skin suggests poor
health or even sickness.
Along
with utmost dedication to the
Godiva Natural Skin Care line, a healthy,
well-balanced diet can improve your skin condition. Take note that there is no
single nutrient that can make your skin radiant. A number of vitamins and
minerals contribute to the health of your skin, that’s why eating a balanced
diet is essential. However, there are crucial nutrients that you must make sure
to have in sufficient quantity:
NUTRIENT |
FUNCTION |
SOURCES |
Vitamin A |
Needed for tissue growth
and repair, and resistance to infection. Long-term lack of Vitamin A may
lead to dry, bumpy and rough skin. |
Liver, kidney, egg yolk,
dairy products, carrots, spinach, broccoli, apricots and peaches. |
Beta-carotene
|
This is an anti-oxidant
that helps protect the skin from sun damage and may slow down the signs of
premature aging, |
Bright-colored
vegetables and fruits like carrots, tomatoes, cantaloupes, spinach and other
green vegetables. |
Vitamin C
|
An anti-oxidant needed
for the formation and maintenance of collagen to keep skin supple. It fights
the effects of UV light and premature aging, and helps in wound-healing.
|
Citrus fruits, other
brightly-colored fruits and vegetables like melons, berries, tomatoes and
cabbage. |
Vitamin E
|
Helps prevent signs of
aging by reducing free radical activity and rehydrate skin. |
Oil-rich food such as
wheatgerm, vegetable oils, avocados and nuts. |
Zinc
|
Aids in the normal
functioning of the sebaceous glands. Works with Vitamin A to produce
collagen and elastin. |
Oysters, pork, turkey
and yoghurt |
Water is
also needed for clearer, more radiant skin. Remember to drink at least eight
glasses of water a day to help nourish the skin, moisten it from within and
remove cellular waste products.
With
proper diet and
Godiva Natural
Skin Care products, you’re on your way to having fairer, brighter
and younger-looking skin!

WORD UP!
Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA)
– a family of substances found in apples, citrus fruits, grapes,
sugar cane and milk. AHAs melt away the intercellular glue that binds dead
surface cells, leaving a smoother, softer layer of skin. AHAs are believed
to stimulate production of collagen and elastin fibers that keep skin plump and
supple.
Fruit Acids
are naturally derived AHAs and are known to be
gentler on the skin than synthetic acids.
