Q.
Dear Skin Care Counselor,
I would like to know which of your products
fit me. I am fair colored and I want my skin to be white and my pores to be
small because they're too big. That's why I'm prone to whiteheads and blackheads
on my nose and chin.
Can you suggest any product of yours for me? I
heard they are really effective and also whiten.
--Chinky, New York, USA
A.
Dear Chinky,
Blackheads form due to
deep-seated dirt and sebum trapped in skin pores. If not treated, they flare up
and become acne. Pores also become larger and dirt are trapped within the skin.
That's why oily-skinned individuals tend to have large skin pores.
To cleanse skin, unplug dirt in
pores and get rid of blackheads and whiteheads, we recommend the use of
Godiva Fruit Acid Revitalizing Complex after
facial cleansing with Godiva Licorice Whitening Soap.
Godiva Fruit Acid Revitalizing Complex
works through a gentle micro-exfoliation process to slough away
dead, old surface skin cells. It contains a mild percent of
AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) that works
by deep-cleansing and uplugging pores from deep-seated dirt.
Remember to apply the fruit
acid cream while avoiding the delicate eye area. If you have sensitive skin,
apply only during the evenings. After skin has adjusted to the fruit acid a week
or two after, you may use it mornings and evenings.
For fairer and lighter skin,
apply
Godiva Licorice Whitening Cream all
over the face, 5 minutes after the fruit acid cream. Do this twice daily.
Glabridin, the fastest-acting
whitening ingredient found in Licorice, works to suppress the formation of
melanin, leading to fairer and lighter skin tone over time.
The
Godiva Licorice Whitening Cream may also be used to lighten skin
discoloration and even out skin tone on other sensitive areas of the body such
as the neck and the underarms.
Yours truly,
Skin Care Counselor

Make-up and blemishes
Before you hit the
sack, don't forget to remove make-up thoroughly from your face. Sleeping with
make-up on can bring on blemishes.
A lot of cosmetics
can cause acne, especially powders and foundations so it's best to use a
non-comedogenic face powder to avoid
zit attacks.
Moreover, always look for products labeled
"fragrance-free" or "without perfume"
since fragrance causes more skin reactions than any other ingredient.
To test if your make-up has been removed
thoroughly, lightly run a fingernail across your cheek after washing. If there's
still make-up under your nails, try washing your face again or follow up with a
toner to thoroughly cleanse skin.
