May 15, 2002 - Apologies (again) for the lack of an update. College is now over, and I can devote more time to the website. However, I am adjusting to a new sleep schedule and regular updates may take some time. If weekly, it will most likely be on a Wednesday.

Reviews are slow in coming, but more will be here soon. In the meantime, I'll to bore you with what I've been doing lately.

Gamewise, it's Maximo from Capcom. This game is ungodly fun. Like other people, re-killing the undead makes me tingle. Especially when it's done with the best control I've experienced in a game since Zone of the Enders. There are a few downsides, though. 1) Maximo can be hard, 2) the camera angle does not always cooperate, and 3) you have to pay 100 coins to save your game. The second is easily overlooked, while gathering the cash for the third can be tedious. The first depends on the player. Shutting down the game every now and again for an hour to avoid breaking the DVD may need to be done.

In anime, it's Vandread all the way. Vandread rules, and once the 4th volume is out in July, expect a review. Vandread seems fairly typical on the surface; it uses the few guys/several women plot device, but it does so very well. Character interaction is what makes Vandread shine, though while it does have good character development, it seems secondary to the way the females of the ship react to the males and vice-versa. Plus, it has giant robots.

That's it for now. Expect more updates within a week, and hopefully the fanfiction archive. Later.
Forthcoming reviews

  • "Anime Essentials: Every Thing a Fan Needs to Know" by Gilles Poitras
  • The Outlaw Star TV series
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion: Vox CD

April 22, 2002 - Apologies for the lack of an update. I'm in the final stretches of college life, and will be for two more weeks.

I recently came into possession of the Arc the Lad Collection, and well, SUGOI. Why the hell weren't these games brought over earlier? They're fantastic, and $70 for them is a relatively small price. On the down side, there were some problems with one of the extras (a watch) and people not getting them. Only enough were made to cover pre-orders at the time they were made, so very few were sent out. I, fortunately got one, but I also have had my copy of AtLC on order since 8/8/2000. Yes, that's 2000, not 2001. I should upload the receipt or something to prove it.

In site news, I took down all the links that have nowhere to go. Sorry about those.

That's all for now. Catch you later.

April 2, 2002 - After a hectic Easter and generally being busy at school, the reviews for FFX and Prime Targets are up. Please don't hesitate to tell me what you think. That's all for now; expect more in a week.

March 25, 2002 - Beat FFX. Good ending, but still somewhat disappointing. Rather pissed that there's an International version I'll never get to play without modifying a $300 machine or buying another. Between this and Super Robot Wars Impact, the PS2 Import scene is getting my attention.

March 20, 2002 - Tired, tired, tired. I've decided that I will beat and review Final Fantasy X and then put up that review and the Prime Targets book review this weekend. I apologize; I'm trying to make this work, but I'm putting a lot of work into my college courses as well. Thank you for your patience.

March 18, 2002 - Last week was very busy, and I only have one review done right now. However, I'm too tired to put up the review tonight. It will have to wait until tomorrow. I apologize.

Reviews for the future:
  • "Prime Targets: An Unauthorized Story Guide to Transformers" by Lars Pearson - done
  • The Outlaw Star TV series
  • Final Fantasy X
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion: Vox CD

March 10, 2002 - Added the Content, Fan Shtuff, and About Us pages. This would have been updated sooner, but midterms got in the way. However, as this goes up, I will be working on more of the page. The Content page has review submission information on it; the other pages are still bare.

Reviews for the future:
  • "Prime Targets: An Unauthorized Story Guide to Transformers" by Lars Pearson
  • The Outlaw Star TV series
  • Final Fantasy X
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion: Vox CD

At least two of these should be up by the end of the week. I will also try to work on getting some more pages up in ther 'Fan Shtuff' section.

February 24, 2002 - Cosmetic changes, and working on getting a template set up. Pay no attention to the links; they lead nowhere at the moment. Still working on it, and two weeks in a row is a record for me. Go me.
