Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, the band Godsmack is made up of Sully Erna (vocals), Tony Rombola (guitar), Robbie Merrill (bass) and Shannon Larkin (drums). They started becoming popular on the local scene and then got their breakthrough when the Boston station WAAF added them to regular rotation. This led to Godsmack's self-titled major label debut. Sully says, "There are a lot of emotional highs and lows in my songs, but they're genuine emotions. I seem to do my best writing when I'm down. For me, writing is a release of energy."
