The Great Banquet A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. At the time of the banquet, he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is now ready.' But they all alike began to make excuses. The first one said, 'I have just bought a field and must go and see it. Please excuse me.' Another said, 'I have just bought five yolk of oxen, and I am on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.' Still another said, 'I just got married so I cannot come.' The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.' 'Sir,' the servant said, 'what you have ordered has been done, but there is still room.' Then the master told his servant, 'go out to the roads and the country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full.' I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.'- Luke 14:16 -24. God loves us and wants us to love Him back, to trust in Him, to believe in Him and accept all of His blessings. He waits at His great banquet table for us to come and partake in His goodness, His glorious riches. He wants us with Him in His kingdom. Why are we so quick to deny Him? Why do we make a list of meaningless excuses why we can't follow His word and trust in Him? Sometimes we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of this hectic world, and, as a result, we forget about what is really important. We spend our time shopping, or getting the latest gossip, or watching TV for hours on end. We may spend our time collecting bottle caps, or the latest issue of Ant-boy comics. But are the things that take up so much of our time really important in our lives? Or are they just a distraction, a way to pass the time, or maybe even a way to take our minds off the troubles we all face on a daily basis? Isn't there even a minute to spare for the Lord? What if God in Heaven invited you to come to his banquet? Perhaps He already has. Would you have time for Him? Would you make time for Him? We make time in our lives to eat every day, or at least, most of us do. If you didn't eat, if you chose not to take in any more food, the result is inevitible, your body would eventually cease to function, it would die. It is the same with the spirit. We, as the human race, also have to feed our spirits... Deut. 8:3 Man does not live on bread alone, but every word that comes from the Mouth of the Lord. We need to listen to the words of the Lord. We need to feast on His word for the health of our souls. Just as a man eats to keep his body strong, so does he need the everlasting word of God to replenish his spirit and make Him whole. He speaks to us through His word. And through His word we can see how much He loves us... John 3:16-For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already, because he has not believed in God's one and only son. Do you ever wonder what life has in store for you? So many of us feel as if there is something missing. Through all the things we aquire, whether it be a great paying job, a new car, the perfect home, there is still something missing. Those things do not fill the void. They distract us for a while, but it is temporary. We are constantly struggling to fill that void. Sometimes there is this heavy feeling that nothing seems to take away. John 6:35 Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." If you allow Him in, Jesus will fill that void. There is a God-shaped hole in every single one of us, and He is the only one who can fill it! If you submit to Him, and let Him in, let Him guide your life, you will know a true peace! No amount of money can buy this peace, no material thing in the universe can give you this peace, it comes from our Heavenly Father! It is a great gift and yours for the asking! You will no longer have that insatiable hunger, it will be satisfied through Jesus Christ! Not even death can rob you of His gifts. You will be saved from condemnation and have eternal life! Wow! What an incredible gift He offers to us! But it is up to each individual to accept it. He will not force it upon you. It is your decision. Face it, time is ticking away. We are all getting older. And when you are gone, you are gone! By that time, the choice you have made is a done deal. No take backs! It is my prayer that you have either accepted Christ or want to accept Him now. He has a great banquet prepared for us all. Please, do not let the invitation go unnoticed, please, do not make up excuses why you can't attend! Accept Him now, for who can say what tomorrow will bring? He offers a wonderful gift for all of us to enjoy! This is your invitation! This is absolutely the most important decision you can make in your life! The kingdom of the Almighty God awaits, and He wants you there at His table! OK, so what do you do now? John 3:3 No one can see the kingdom unless he is born again. OK, you may be wondering, 'how can I be born again?' Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. If you believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for your sins and rose again, you can know for sure that you'll go to Heaven. If you pray the prayer below, and mean it with your heart, you will be saved and know that you have eternal life. Pray this prayer. . . "Heavenly Father, I know I'm a sinner and I need Your help. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died on the cross for my sins and You raised Him from the dead. Right now I accept Jesus into my heart as my Savior and Lord, and I turn from my past life to a renewed life in You through Him. Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You now for accepting me as Your child. In Jesus' precious name, Amen." The Lord's Great Banquet awaits you my friend! Peace ><> TRUTH WORD MIRACLES BIBLE Q & A LAND OF THE GIANTS EVIDENCE MOONLIGHT GALLERY IN THE BEGINNING |
