God in us - i.e. The Holy Spirit
Gal.1:23-24 But they had heard only, that he which persecuted us in times past, now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.
24: And they glorified God in me.
N.I.V- The man who formally persecuted us {Christians} is now preaching the faith that he once tried to destroy. And they praised God because of me.
But, I like the King James version of verse 24 where it says that they glorified God in me.
It wasn’t Paul they saw, it was the presence of God in him that caused them to praise the God that so greatly changed and challenged Paul’s life. They saw that this drastic contrast in character could only be the result of a divine nature.
Living Waters
John 7:38: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39: (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
This river of living water was the very thing that the people saw in Paul. It was the Holy Spirit in him. It was indwelling and out-flowing. But so often, seasoned Christians become dry for one reason only. They have seen Salvation and did drink of the living water. But, at some point they stopped going as often to the well-spring to drink, only taking sips here and there to quench an extreme thirst.
How can it be that a people so enriched does not take from God all the He offers?
The Comforter
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
He is a loving Comforter. When family and friends grow weary of our wailing, the comforter surrounds us with his consolation. Love is sometimes unfaithful and painful. But the Holy Spirit within us is ever faithful. He never leaves us or forsakes us.
And the Spirit is a wise Comforter. Job had many comforters that did not fully understand his grief and sorrow. They thought that he could not be truly a child of God, and that he was self-righteous. They gave him some really bad advice, Curse God and die!. But the Comforter never makes a mistake. He will never lead us wrong.
And, the Comforter is safe. Our plight, our sorrows, our joys, are safe in His hands. He would never let us slip out of His grip.
Lastly, the Comforter is ever-present. When darkness has fallen and there is no human touch, He is there....always...

Could it be that the account of the Israelites crossing Jordan was not a representation of crossing in to Heaven and our final, eternal reward? Could it be that it represented a spiritual realm where God is found in man, finally, in Jordan? Is Jordan a spiritual state found in this life? Could Jordan be the special communion with the Comforter? Could it {the journey in the wilderness} be representative of our willful choice to not go to the well at ever opportunity? In doing so we spend a life in the wilderness, with a thirst that could be easily quenched?
Go to the Well Spring of Living Water as often as you can, as often as you breathe. It is there for us continuously. We can live in Jordan if we stop searching the ends of the Earth for the Spirit. He is within us.

We are a people that allow our hearts to become so congested with the noise and chaos of the world, that we forget that God has quickened us with His spirit. We forget that He is greater than the challenges that the world throws at us. He is greater than our fears and loss of hope.
Will the world point at us and say, " Icabod" The Glory of God has departed?

Or will we allow ourselves to be changed, challenged, and transformed by the continued communion of the Living Water, our Comforter, our Guaridan...
