Powers: Flame breath, nasal horn, jaws, claws, and can leap strong distances. Can also burrow at a fast pace under the earth's crust.

History: Believed to be an ancient dinosaur who burrowed beneath the earth's crust and lived for millions of years in the bowels of the earth. Baragon soon emerged in the modern era and fed on the helpless. Only then was he stopped when engaging a kaiju sized Frankenstein and had his neck snapped. Baragon died and along with Frankenstein, the two disappeared in an volcanic eruption.

Then in the year 1999, another and larger Baragon was captured by man and placed on Monster Island with his fellow kaiju brethren. He was released by an alien race and was said to attack other cities around the world. After the alien control was broken Baragon took part in defeating the one known as King Ghidorah. Though he never really fought the demon, he just stayed in the background--probably a back up should the reason arise when he was needed...or was scared.

This ancient dinosaur has only a few array of attacks in his arsenal. The only thing that can remotely allow him to engage in a fight would be his flame breath and vicious tendency to try and devour anyone that gets in his way. Baragon's strong muscles inside his legs allows the dinosaur to leap across long distances like a frog. This provides a perfect chance to reach prey faster or to get away from an opponent who is on the verge of victory. When faced with opposition, Baragon can use his sharp claws to tear through the earth and burrow beneath its crust. A useful ability in times of need. But that is all Baragon has. Despite his size, the creature's strength isn't impressive and his flame breath is weak. If allied to strong monsters facing a threat as say Ghidrah, Baragon would only be useful as cannon-fodder.

History: 5,000 years ago Baragon was said to be apart of the Yamato Guardians. He was imprisoned and would later to be re-awaken to defend Japan against the return of Godzilla. Godzilla and Baragon fought a spectacular fight but in the end Baragon, after making a return to the Kaiju Fandom, was vaporized.

Later in the film Baragon's spirit manifested itself along with King Ghidorah and Mothra's own, and rendered Godzilla paralyzed...but not defeated.

This incarnation is superior than his Showa counterpart. Baragon may not have his flame breath, but Baragon had developed a cunning ferocity that matches even Anguirus' aggression. Still retaining his burrowing and long distance jumping attributes, Baragon is an awesome brawler. Even up against Godzilla, a foe a lot larger than he is, Baragon fought valiently. Against creatures smaller, Baragon would put up a good fight. But this is where the good qualities end. Without a worthy projectile at his disposal, Baragon needs to get in close. The majority of the kaiju out there are around Godzilla's size. So it is likely that Baragon would be thrown around by larger and physically stronger opponents.
