At last we have the collection of "Godzilla Website Collecting Pioneer" Richard Cox, Curator of Club Tokyo-The Godzilla Virtual Museum and inspiration of yours truly's website. As we can see Richard's collection has a wide array of various figure makers and product lines. Richard also has a nice lot of marmit parababy figures in various pictures. This is our first look at the super rare white Marmit '62 Godzilla ( only 50 made ! ) with the San Diego version to the right of it in picture #5. Be sure to check out Club Tokyo for a comprehensive cataloging of godzilla related toys and collectibles!! Thanks Rich !!
Top Five Favorite Vinyls
Insofar as my favorite pieces, here are five, in no particular order:
1) Marmit white Godzilla '62King Goji is my favorite G suit (obviously), and Marmit one of my very favorite manufacturers. THus it probably comes as no surprise that their G62 is a top pic of mine. Add to that the sheer quirkiness of a solid white version and it's limited availability (less than 50).
2) Bandai FB Series (in general) FB Hedorah (specifically)The best capsule series released in my opinion, hands down. One of the more widely varied insofar as kaiju depicted, and full of never reissued molds. There's never been a better SD look to TOHO characters. Hedorah, being one of my favorite kaiju, is a particular fav of mine.
3) Bandai Ghido-Goji (Closed Mouth)Bandai's best depiction of Godzilla. Period.
4) Marmit Hedorah (standing and flying)Awesome in both sculpt and color, be it flying, standing, yellow, gray, or pink. Done in the usual Marmit style, the Bullmark influenced ones are bright and colorful, while the realistically painted one is better than the (very cool) Bandai release. Of special note are the cool eyes and the fact that it's the only flying Hedorah available.
5) Mattel Noko Girin (Godzilla's Gang Series)Mostly because it was my favorite from the G Gang set I had as a child. I've been lucky enough since to acquire one still bagged.
