| April 2002 We had already decided that we were going to go to africa to do volunteer work, but we did not know where. I started to search the internet for possibilties. some of the projects were very expensive. eventually I found Global Volunteer Network which is based in NewZealand, but was not too expensive. The deposit was put down, and now we just have to wait for Middle of January to head on our way! |
| September 2002 Good news, we know where we are going!! the school is in Accra, Lord of the Peace School in Tantra Hill. I will be teaching English Maths and Science, Angelique will be teaching English French and Health Studies.!! |
| September 2002 Received an email from someone that volunteered last year, it sounds great, although apparently the children can get over excited!. Well, we will see how it is goes. The other issue now pressing on us is how to get there. When we finish we are thinking of travelling in Spain. so I think we will book flights from Malaga to Accra, getting excited now, the countdown is on!!! |
| October 2002 Not really getting things sorted quick enough, can't decide where to fly from. Finally think we are going from Heathrow. will book tickets tomorrow. leave on 13 January, return on 25 May. I have my form to get my visa sorted out aswel! Getting there....slowly! |
| October 2002 Bit worried about the fighting going on in Cote Ivoire, (the Ivory Coast) there is a cease fire at the moment, and I hope everything will be alright. otherwise, it is possible that fighting could spread to Ghana....Eeek! |
