Then joined the X Affiliation and rose to the top of his class in piloting and combat skills. Met Imari Tajiri during his first year of service for McCraken and the two fell in love. eventually became the led pilot for a force of Gundams known as the "Garuda Wing". During battle with Heero Yuy realized he was doing wrong and rebelled against McCracken forces and became part of the Gundam team along side Imari.
