GOLDEN LINK SERVICE UNIT
REGISTERED ADULT VOLUNTEER
Award Program

WHO: Any registered Adult (leader, co-leader, cookie mom, committee member, or team member)
WHAT: “Service Unit Bucks” award program (with phony money)
WHEN: Earn phony money from September 1, 2004 thru July 31, 2005 (redeemable at the year-end recognition event or the fall Leader’s Night Out, whichever event includes the Auction)
WHY: To recognize and reward the efforts of our adult volunteers for various activities.
HOW: Receive phony money awards for completing/participating in specified activities as indicated.

**NOTE**:  This is our 4th year for this program since 1999.  We decided to use it again this year as a means of recognizing the commitment of the adult volunteers to participate in a variety of activities. We’ve had a great time with this event in the past, so be sure to check out the value of each activity.  Also, be sure to give us your feedback and suggestions. Thank YOU!!

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:

The Service Unit manager awards phony money to registered adult volunteers for various accomplishments throughout the time period specified above.  The phony money is then used to bid on items at a silent auction held at the end of the program year.  Prizes are collected during the year as leaders bring one, two or more little gifts such as crafts, craft books, stationary, personal items, camp supplies, white elephant gifts, or gift certificates from community businesses.  These items can be new or used (in excellent condition), such as items that would be sold in a yard sale.

Service Unit Bucks are available in $1.00, $2.00, $3.00 and $5.00 values. This program works on the honor system, so as you complete one of the activities, let the Service unit manager know at a Service unit meeting and your bucks will be awarded!  Collect as many as you can, so you have lots of bucks to spend at the auction.
