Taken at the Leper Colony in February 1970. They had moved a tank or two down to us to stand security while we went swimming. Richard Orefice is in the red trunks. Joe Taylor is to Richard's left. On the far right, giving the peace sign, is probably Kent Jennings. Kneeling in front of Kent is William Comley. Comley was killed March 11, 1970 |

Not sure where or when this picture, or the one below, were taken. I do remember a time in late November or December 1969 that we were set up on a hill on the northeast side of the Que Son mountions and we fired the mortars in a contest. There was considerable betting on how many rounds it would take to hit some target. John Kelly said he remembered this and that the Gunny didn't pay up (I think the bet was a case of beer or something like that) |
