Lcpl. Cecil Lambert from Columbus, Ohio.

Cecil was killed August 12, 1969 at the junction of the road from Hill 22 and the road that ran from the Catholic Vill to Hotel Battery.  That morning's road sweep had been hit.  First platoon was sent out to help them.  We were sweeping across the road when two gooks in some brush on the other side opened up.  Lambert wasn't more than 20-30 feet away from them and lying in the road, totally exposed.  In spite of the "Doc" David Dean went to his aid.  Doc was shot trying to help Lambert, though he lived.
