Brand New | |||||||||||||||||||||
I was on-line one night and my buddy & I are talking about music as usual. He asks me who I've been listening to and I ask like wise. Well he mentions this band called Brand New, so I DL them. And boy was he right, these guys ROCK. Lil' bit emo, a lil punk rock but they're good. | |||||||||||||||||||||
- Tues April 22, 2003 @ The Shelter, Detroit, MI After a deafening set by Static Lulaby, Brand New took the stage. They weren't as ready as they thought though ... They started what turned out to be a 5 min instrumental then when Jesse tried to sing he noticed the Mic wasn't on. After all the confusion he belted out "Whatever poison's in this bottle ..." and Brand New had begun what would be 80 mins of Rock!!! There wasn't much of a pit just everyone trying to rush the stage. Which us the fans were constantly getting in trouble by the bouncers(who wanted us to move back). A lil disappointed that they didn't play SoCo, Armaretto, and Lime but not disappointed with the concert itself. Brand New ROCKS and I can't wait for their new CD to hit stores in June. |

- Fri June 27, 2003 @ Frankies, Toledo, OH Brand New definatly picks their venues to their liking. Small, hot, so it's personal. I don't think there was a bad veiw in the whole place. This venue was similar to that of JD's(for those of you who know). It was loud, it was hot, but most of all it ROCKED!!! What can I say? These guys are amazing!!! This time when they did the intro the mic's were turned on and there was no delay on kicking off an awesome 1.5 hour set. They played a few songs from the new CD and a few songs from the old one. It was a good mix and the crowd was definatly feeling both. "Seventy Times Seven" was still the fan fav at this show. I definatly spent more $ at this show than any other show. I picked up a t-shirt(of course), a DVD, a sticker, and an autographed lithograph. All was worth the money spent on it. To top it all off after the show I ran into and talked to Jesse(lead singer) for a few minutes. He even signed my DVD(what a guy!). Then when we were at the merch table(where we spent a lot of time) Vinnie was behind us drinking a beer and I got to meet him too. It was a fun night and I'm glad I made the trip. You guys missed out(you know who you are). \/ Pic of the litho\/ |
