Short Bio NOFX started in 1983 - 84 in Berkley, California, then moved to L.A., California.  El Hefe joined the band in 1992. NOFX the name came from a band called Negative FX.  Fat Mike is the main music writer for the band.  He also writes the lyrics for their kick ass songs.  He started in Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.  Fat Mike started his own label called Fat Wreck Chords.
