( May 19-June 3, 1999 message from W. H. Haisadiam: )

   The following message of “Missing Mother” was written on May 9, 1999, the Mother’s Day in

America, China, and many other countries around the world.  Originally I wrote it for sending it to

a friend of mine who had lost her mother when she was a little girl.  She and her two younger sisters

had some rough time for quite a few years before they grew up to earn their living on their own by

going to both school and works, starting from their middle teenage.

   By adding some words in the foreword, I felt it could be for all people who would eventually

part with their mothers in the mundane world.

For those who have lost their mothers,

and those who will eventually part with their mothers

in the mundane world:

          MISSING  MOTHER

    I miss Mother in the morning,                  when I was an infant.

Because she was as fragrant and refreshing

As the air of the early morning.

I miss Mother around noon,                     when I was a little child and

Because, even under the hot, heavy sun,           went out with my mother,

She carried me in her bosom, on her back,         especially when I was sent

And walked long ways                               to a doctor.

Without giving a thought of tiredness.

I miss Mother in the afternoon,                  when I have grown up.

Because whether in directing me

Or misunderstanding me,

She was with love and concern for me.

I miss Mother in the evening,                     when I have become a

Because after I myself have become a parent,       parent.

I know much more about

How she have loved me;

And know that

I will eventually meet with Mother

In the heavenly home;

Me and my loving mother will be together again

In the house of God the Eternal.

Feeling grateful to Mother,

I love my mother.
