OK, I finally got the completed "In Loving Memory" Master CD to Thad last night, so a big part of the release of the CD is finished! Unfortunately I couldn't seem to get into any local studios to finish up "Rut" and "Tear You Down" so those songs will not be on the final CD, instead being replaced with "Spoken Thoughts" and "The Trilogy" (which is "Dancing In the Kitchen", "Escape From the Giant Cave Flies", and "Return to the Surface" on the same track!!!) Those are the three songs that were supposed to close off "Kill This. Save Parts." in that order, as a sort of story that Jake had intended but he lost the original Master CD so he put "Frosting" on "Kill This. Save Parts." and the order of "Dancing In the Kitchen" and "Escape From the Giant Cave Flies" got messed up too. So I decided to release the original order of the original three tracks because luckily Scott had a copy of the original "Kill This. Save Parts." from Jake! Andy Bilinski, a guy from Auburn who knew Jake and Between Walls, recorded a really beautiful tribute song for JP! Check it out here! Also, If Hope Dies might be recording their killer cover of "Two Hours Ago" for their forthcoming full length album!! So here is the FINAL tracklisting for "In Loving Memory"!:

As all of you should know by now, Jacob Pete, our singer/guitarist and close friend, passed away on June 16th, 2002 in the early morning. This came as quite the shock to everyone... It's still hard for all of us and will be for the rest of our lives. The music must be heard, however. We must keep the memories alive! Jake will always be with us in spirit. I'd like to personally thank everyone who ever came out to our shows over the years and who supported us and made us what we were. There are many links on the main page, but the three most important links you should visit are, TheStillness.com, NNY-Punk.com and Forever Autumn Records. The Stillness and NNY-Punk.com have info on the Jacob Pete Memorial Scholarship, so visit them. Forever Autumn Records, Thad of If Hope Dies' label, is seeking donations to get a CD (In Loving Memory, see below) pressed that spans Good Morning Reality's career and collects Jake's best songs. Thad has already raised around $900 and is looking to raise $1400, let's keep the donations coming and get the music out! We have so many projects in the works. I've been collecting video tapes of our shows, if anyone has any, please send them to me or make me a copy or just let me know you have one. We are also looking to somehow collect stuff like The Beeman, Bosco the Owasco Lake Monster, the Par-4 video, the shows and a bunch of other random stuff we have onto a compilation, preferrably a DVD or some other digital format. If you can help us out with that, since we don't have a DVD burner or anything like that, let us know. We are also looking to compile covers of GMR songs for a possible tribute CD sometime down the road. Anyone in a band or whatever who wants to cover one of our songs, let me know. If you're going to cover a song, however, please keep in mind that we want you to do it your own way, don't just record a straigtforward cover. Make it your own song like Slow on the Uptake and If Hope Dies have. Possible bands that may be on it or have shown interest in this project are: Dead End, If Hope Dies, Between Walls, Slow on the Uptake, Driving In June and Kriesau Circle. So, yeah, we are still looking for more bands for this. So if you can, record a cover, preferrably in a studio, but if not, on a 4-Track or anything, as long as it is listenable, heh. Another possible project in the works is another Tribute CD but one made up of songs about or as a tribute to Jake. As usual, we welcome any pictures, memories, etc. And in Good Morning Reality news, we will be going into the studio soon to polish up previously recorded material and finish unproduced material for the CD, "In Loving Memory", this is what the tracklisting will be:

Monday, May 27, 2002:
Show on the 25th was a blast! Bad news on the EPs, but also some good news. The bad news is, the pressing of the CD on official silver CDs is apparently not going to happen. Something happened along the way and I don't want to get into it since I don't know the exact details, but no official release like that. On the other hand, we're making CD-R copies and selling them like we have with all of our previous CDs so you can now pick up a copy of "Kill This. Save Parts." for only $5.00. We also have new Pins and Shirts and stuff in. Plus we have an acoustic show coming up June 7th. Can't wait. Hope everyone got tickets.
Sunday, March 31, 2002:
Happy Easter everyone! Show last night was amazing! I can't believe the energy and emotion in that place last night! I don't think we've ever had quite a crowd response, people were even moshing to "Poignant!" We debuted our new song "S.O.S." which still needs some practice. Our CD will be out someday... We don't even know anymore, our apologies to everyone. Weird to have people singing along to all of our songs. Really cool though. Dead End ripped the place up with their new song and an action packed set that even included the old favorites "Silence" and "Today" Truly amazing performances by everyone involved. Can't wait until April!
Monday, February 11, 2002:
Okay, show with Moneen kicked serious ass, a lot of people liked us and we gave out every sticker and demo tape we had, crazy!! We have another show this weekend (02-15-02, Friday), this time in Auburn at the Salvation Army Gymnasium with It Dies Today and Sheol, apparently it's an open mic night so there'll be some crazy stuff happening. The new EP will be out probably in Early March now, also a couple tracks are now up at MP3.com so check them out and download them! We have a show March 30th at the Gouverneur Elk's Lodge with Dead End and Amorous Radio which is a make-up show for the one we and Dead End missed, we're definitely going to make up for that! Sorry to anyone who went expecting us on Jan. 26th. Well I guess all I can say is stay tuned because things are definitely looking up right now!!
Sunday, January 13, 2002:
Well, we won't be able to play the 26th in Gouverneur because Jake has a show with Between Walls in Baltimore, MD on the same day (damned scheduling conflicts... oh well). Bob will be back on Friday the 18th of January so Mike, Bob and I might be playing a few songs without Jake at the show in Gouverneur like "Perfect Like This" plus Dead End, 3 Speed Side Arm, and Slow on the Uptake will all be playing too so it'll still whoop a horse's ass and rock the batter severely. Be sure and check them all out!! We will be playing with Between Walls in Buffalo on the 25th instead of Binghampton. Unsure of the venue or time as of right now, sorry. Worked on new material today and got our current setlist worked out. Our EP's release date has been pushed back to late February because we decided to go back and remix it and redo some vocal tracks to make it better. There should be an acoustic version of "Poignant" and an instrumental tagged onto the end if finished on time. Went and saw Showoff, Student Rick, The Reunion Show, This Afternoon, Straighter Than Pete, and Section 8 at Armory High in Syracuse yesterday, all kick ass bands, check 'em out dammit!! heh. Well when I went in and paid, low and behold, I was handed a flyer for the upcoming Moneen show, also featuring us, Fire Down Below, and Amorous Radio, so that was pretty damn cool. So yeah, a possible show Feb. 26th in Rochester, no info as of yet but I'll keep you all updated.
Thursday, January 10, 2002:
New year brings new things, such as a new song which is as of yet
untitled. Our other new song which was debuted recently is titled
"Stressed Backwards Is Desserts" as of this update. The show on the
25th may be cancelled, not 100% sure of the status of that one but the
26th in Gouverneur is a definite. Bob will be back tomorrow apparently
so he'll hopefully be back in the fray for our next show. Our new
EP should be out soon and will be available when it is, so check back for
updates. Finally, for all you Weezer fans, check out their official
website for information and MP3s of their demos for Album No. 4 due
out in the spring, April I think.
