History

Veronica "Ronee" Lawrence first met the Cranes when, as a teenager, she babysat Frasier and Niles as kids. Frasier had a crush on her as a boy and used to watch her make out with her boyfriend Chad on the sofa. Without realising it, Ronee was the first woman to reject poor Frasier. Ronee also told Niles scary stories and is responsible for his need to wipe a chair every time he sits on one! Ronee also had a crush on Martin, something which Hester Crane did notice. One time when Martin was driving Ronee home, her mother thought Martin was trying to take advantage of her.

After her babysitting was no longer needed, Ronee lost contact with the Cranes. She got married, then divorced, and then decided to have a career in music. She had a couple of shots at the big time, and even released an album, "Mood Swings". It didn't sell that many copies and Ronee was soon back to playing at small clubs, such as the Wellington Hotel where she currently works as a singer and pianist. She has also had some plastic surgery done to her face.

In 2003 Ronee met Frasier at a furniture store and was invited back to the apartment, where she met Martin again. She still had a crush on him, but now he also fancied her and they started dating. A few weeks later they decide to be exclusive with each other and following a health scare in 2004, Martin proposed to Ronee. They got married on May 15th, the same day she became a step-grandmother when David Crane was born. Frasier's first crush is now his stepmother!

Personality

Ronee is very outgoing. She is also a bit of a flirt and likes attention from the opposite sex. She pays good attention to her looks and has had plastic surgery with Dr Goldman. Ronee may also have been afraid of commitment in the past - she is divorced, and when she started dating Martin she also made a date with another guy - possible in case things didn't work out with Martin. Now they are happily married.

Ronee is a good singer and likes jazz music, which she performs at the club. She is also a good pianist. Ronee seems to have the attitude of if she wants it, she gets it, as she has tried numerous times to hit the big time. She has a dry sense of humour and can often be sarcastic but she is liked by all the family.

Ronee Lawrence is played by Wendie Malick. She first appeared in Ep 238 "The Babysitter".
