It was one those early years in Sahaj. I visited Hyderabad,
India in early 90s or so and I had an appointment to see one of my
friends in the city. Usual mode of transport at Hyderabad was
:auto rickshaw" - a 3 wheeler where the driver runs fast even in a crowded street
and a common mode for quick movements. I was returning late in the
midday in a hot weather on dusty roads with heavy traffic and annoying
noise and dust in this auto rickshaw speedily driven on a slope heading
towards a "charrasta" (four roads crossing). Suddenly the driver
mentioned about the brakes and the auto rickshaw was moving in an
uncontrollable speed. My queries did not bring forth any answer from the driver
as he could hardly listen to anything either one of us said. The
rickshaw reached the end of the slope and middle of three four roads where a
speeding 0tonner lorry was almost heading towards us. All I heard was
that the driver lost control as no gadget in the rickshaw was working
and he was in great panic.
Suddenly I touched my heart and to my
surprise I had the Mataji's small photo pinned to my shirt. I held it with
my hand and went into meditation to sahastrar and said to myself
"oh mother you protect us" and never opened my eyes.
It was a dirty garage meant for car serving and the mechanics in
uniform surrounded the auto rickshaw and openly claiming that poor fellow is
dead in shock etc. When I heard some noise around me, I opened my eyes
to see that the auto rickshaw driver was standing and someone in the crowd
brought a drink for me. On enquiry, they told me we had a miraculous
escape and nobody was hurt including the autorickshaw. When the driver
started it, it just moved perfectly ok and the driver declared it no
problem.
It was all HER grace we were all saved. SHE answers when
you pray!!!
