Van Hollen voted against passing a historic prescription drug coverage plan aimed at providing relief to all seniors. Van Hollen opposed the measure providing assistance to seniors in the following manner:


· Beneficiaries will be able to choose from competing health insurance plans.
· Catastrophic coverage would be available to seniors once out-of pocket expenses reach $3600.
· Low-income seniors will have their deductibles and premiums subsidized.
· Seniors who enrolled would receive assistance in covering drug costs.

 Van Hollen voted against the permanent repeal of the estate tax or better known as the death tax
Van Hollen voted to keep the death tax in place and to establish a tax rate of 49% on non-exempt estates According to Disabled American Veterans, Chris Van Hollen votes against the interests of disabled veterans 50% of the time. Don’t our veterans deserve a Congressman who will respect them more than 50% of the time?
Van Hollen voted against protection for beneficiaries who designate representative payees to manage their financial affairs. These protections would help stop Social Security beneficiaries from falling prey to deceitful representatives.
