Chapter 13

Natasha called a couple of their friends and they had a girl’s night at Shayna’s apartment.
“Wow, all of us don’t have a man, that’s so sad.”  Natasha laughed,
“There’s nothing wrong with not having a man, Ashley.”  They all looked at each other and began to laugh.  Sarah jumped up,
“Let’s go clubbing.  We’ll all get dressed and meet up at someone’s house.” Shayna was tired of sitting in the house every night, she had never been one for real partying but maybe it was time to go out and have fun for a while.  She shrugged,
“Works for me, I haven’t been to a club in forever.”  They all agreed to meet at Sarah’s apartment since she lived closest to downtown.

They arrived at the club and they all hit the dance floor immediately and danced in a group.  Eventually, guys came up and started to dance with them and they separated.  Shayna was having a blast; she didn’t care about her hair or her makeup, the music and the dancing was all she concentrated on.  Her partner leaned over,
“You want to go get a drink?”  She nodded and allowed him to take her hand and lead her off the dance floor and to a table.  He shouted,
“What do you want to drink?”
“I don’t know…I’m not a drinker, so something that isn’t strong.”  He smiled,
“I got the perfect drink; be right back.” They sat in a corner booth and drank, danced and drank some more.  Shayna had never drunk so much in her life.  She was feeling really good and everyone sat around and watched as she did a body shot off of John, who had pretty much become her date for the evening.  He pulled her top half way down and returned the favor.  She pulled his head up and kissed him.  His hands were tangled in her hair and her tongue entered his mouth.  Her friends were all shocked as they watched her totally lose herself.  They would always kid her about being older than her years and called her a prude.  She pulled back and laughed as she called for another shot.  She pulled John on the dance floor and they began to grind as people around them looked on.  His hands were all over her and she grabbed his face and kissed him again.  He leaned into her ear and she nodded her head.  He grabbed her hand and they walked outside the club.  They stood near his truck and he sighed,
“This is better.  The music was getting to me.”  She nodded her head and looked up at the sky,
“Yeah, my ears are ringing, I haven’t been to a club in a long time.”  He looked over,
“Why not?”  She sighed,
“Just never been that into clubs.”
“What made you come out tonight?”  She smiled wryly,
“Broke up with my boyfriend, girl’s night out.”  He stood in front of her and pinned her against the truck,
“Well, good for me.”  He leaned down and kissed her, one of his hands cupped her breast and the other was on her butt.  Her head fell back and he began to kiss on her neck.  She looked over and made contact with a female walking hand in hand with her boyfriend and the look of disgust on her face was evident.  She closed her eyes and pushed John off of her, a few weeks ago that would have been her looking at someone in disgust at such a public display.
“What’s wrong?”  She straightened her clothes,
“I can’t do this, out here like this-“
“We can go back to my place.”  She shook her head,
“No, I can’t do that either.  I’m not ready for this.”  He nodded his head and was visibly annoyed,
“Alright then, we might as well get back inside.”  She nodded and walked back into the club, this is not the way to move on, she thought.
