| Chapter 41 Shayna was tired, tired of answering all his questions about Nick; guess the insecurities don’t stop as you get older. “So, what did he mean about seeing you around?” She threw the towel on the counter, “Its just something he said…don’t you say that at the end of a conversation?” Bill stood and walked into the kitchen, “And the look he gave you about having older fans?” She turned and looked at him, “He felt bad, you have me and you made a smartass, and unnecessary may I add, comment and he got you back. Next time you both should just whip em out.” He grabbed her by the arm, “Have you seen him since we’ve started dating?” She sighed and looked away, “I’ve seen him around.” His grip tightened, “Where?” She struggled to get away from him but his hold on her was too strong, “Could you let go please? Look, we just see each other around, it’s no big deal.” She hated lying but she hadn’t slept with Nick in a couple of weeks and she had no intentions of doing so anymore. “Do you still love him?” She frowned at him as her stomach began to turn, “Bill stop it…Nick and I are over…I care about him but we’re over.” He snorted, “Who broke up with whom?” She finally freed herself from his grasp, “Not like it matters but it was mutual really. I’m not talking about this anymore.” She turned to walk about and he grabbed her and pulled her into him, “I’m sorry…I don’t want to fight…I love you.” She looked down at his chest and whispered, “I love you too.” He kissed her on the head, “I never want to make you feel bad.” She looked up at him and smiled, “You’ve never made me feel bad.” He placed his hands on her face and pulled her into a kiss. Her head swooned and she let out a breath, “Wow, that was nice…makes me want to stay.” “Well, why don’t you?” He held her face as he nibbled on her neck and she moaned as her body tingled, “I…I really should go. I have work tomorrow.” “We work in the same building.” He mumbled as he continued to kiss on her neck, “Yeah but I don’t have any clothes and its too far to wake up early, go to my place from here then to work.” He pulled back, “Ok, how about I get my things and spend the night at your place.” She smiled and ran her hands under his shirt, “Sounds great, hurry.” She laughed as they ran around and got his stuff together. She lay in bed and looked at him as he slept, she really did love him and she loved being around him but there was always this nagging feeling that something in the relationship was missing. She wanted stability and now that she got it, she wanted excitement. She wanted the deep conversations and now that she got it she wanted to talk about how NSYNC looked like homeless kids and Lance was the ugly one with Nick. Guess the grass really is greener, she thought. She went out to the living room and turned on the TV, she had the kind of relationship she wanted and it wasn’t enough but it definitely didn’t mean she wanted to be with Nick again either. She had been there done that and she knew that didn't make her any happier than what she was feeling now. Home Full Circle Chapter 42 |
