The guys were all over at Nick’s house watching a football game. Nick looked over towards the direction of the door as the bell rang,
“That’s the pizzas.” Craig stood up as Nick called out,
“Here man.” Craig shook his head as he walked out the room,
“I got it man.” Sam looked over and laughed as Nick put the money under Craig’s keys,
“Dude, can’t you let someone else pay sometimes? You’re too fucking nice.” Nick frowned as Sam handed him the money,
“You know ME, I would take it but this is Craig, you know he won’t, so just avoid the fight. I don’t want to hear you two.” They laughed as Nick put the money back in his pocket. His laughter stopped as he looked up and saw Shayna walk in with Craig’s arm around her. He stood up and Craig looked in his eyes,
“Here, she needs you.” He placed her in Nick’s arms and walked away and started talking to the guys but Nick could only hear her whisper,
“I didn’t have any place else to go.” Nick watched her break down and cry as the guys said their goodbyes and walked out the door. Nick walked her to the couch and held her as she rubbed her back,
“What's wrong baby? Tell me.” He sat and held her simply waited until she was ready. He wanted to know and it was killing him but he waited until she was ready,
“He knows. Bill knows about us.” Nick’s breath caught in his throat. He felt bad, he wasn’t sure why but he did. When you cheat you aren’t supposed to get caught, maybe that’s why. It was like failure to be caught,
“Baby, don’t worry about it ok.” He lifted her face so she was looking at him and he frowned,
“What happened to your face?” He watched as she struggled and looked down and he gently grabbed her face until he saw her flinch and slide to the other side of the couch,
“What did he do to you?” When she didn’t answer he yelled,
“What did he do to you?” She jumped off the couch and began to walk away. He took a deep breath and told himself to calm down,
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to yell. Did he hit you?” He saw the look in her eyes and he knew. He walked over and ran his finger over the scratch near her eye,
“I’m so sorry he did that to you.” He kissed her on the forehead and his demeanor totally changed as he picked up his keys,
“Where does he live?” She shook her head,
“Don’t Nick, please just let it go.” He paced back and forth and he finally through a glass and it shattered against the wall. He turned just as she screamed and ran upstairs. He paced back and forth and tried to calm down. He knew that last thing she needed was to be around a man who was angry and throwing things. There was no way he was going to get away with hurting her. He sat on the couch and ran his hands over his face trying to calm himself down. He looked up as the bell rang,
“Fucking pizza.” He walked over and handed the money as he took the pizzas,
“Keep the change.” He closed the door and put the pizzas on the kitchen table before walking upstairs. He heard the shower running and walked in the bathroom and took off his clothes. His heart dropped as she jumped when he stepped in the shower with her,
“Its ok, I would never hurt you.” He held her face in his hands and kissed her lightly on the lips before moving his mouth to her neck,
“I wont hurt you. Have I ever?” She shook her head and he kissed her neck and smiled as she moaned calmly. Her hands ran up to his shoulders and her eyes closed,
“Please make me feel good.” He smiled and nodded as he turned her around. He could hear her moan as he lathered the shampoo into her hair. He washed her hair and slowly washed her body. The sighs and moans he heard from her was well worth sitting through that chick flick Lexi made him watch when she was there.
