She heard the doorbell and she couldn't help but smile as she rushed over to the door while wiping her hands with a towel from the kitchen,
"Hi." She couldn't help it and wrapped her arms around Nick's neck. Her smile grew when she saw Larry standing to the side,
"Hi." She left Nick's arms and hugged Larry, when suddenly Mac began to cry. She led Larry inside and saw Nick sitting on the floor next to her,
"Let me finish the kitchen and I'll be there in a minute. I just need to let the water out." Nick smiled,
"Isn't that what dishwashers are for?" When she looked up he was holding Mac on his lap and she was playing with one of the toys he bought her. She smiled, that was the way it was supposed to be. She almost began to cry,
"It's easier to do it by hand and just let them dry in the dishwasher." He nodded and began to talk to Mac,
"Hey little one. Do you know who I am? Can you say daddy?" He began to make funny little baby noises and Quinn couldn't help but laugh when Mac started 'talking',
"Are you two having a conversation?" He looked up at her as she made her way over to the living room,
"Yeah, I understand every word she says. She's says you should get us something to drink." Quinn nodded,
"Oh really? And what do you guys want Mac?" Nick held her face up to his ear and pretended to listen,
"She'll take some milk and I'll take some juice. She said apple but whatever you got is good." Quinn smiled at Nick and shook her head,
"Coming up." She looked over at Larry,
"You want anything? I notice Mac and her daddy forgot all about you." He laughed,
"No, I'm ok." She nodded and walked into the kitchen,
"So Mac, does your dad want ice?" Nick called out,
"Yes he would." Quinn rolled her eyes, but she couldn't wipe the smile off her face, she was enjoying every moment of it. Calling Nick dad and daddy was like a dream as he sat on the floor and played with their daughter. She made her way back in with a bottle for Mac and a glass of apple juice for Nick,
"Let me have her, while you drink your-" Nick held onto Mac tighter as Quinn tried to remove her from his hands,
"No, I got her. Lemme do it." She nodded and sat on the floor next to them as he fed her. She looked up and caught Larry's eye and smiled as he winked. Nick looked over at her,
"I'm doing it right, right?" She nodded as she ran her fingers over Mac's head,
"Perfect Nick, perfect." As she watched her fingers run over Mac's head she wondered how he was going to take her news, wondered if he would even care. Her thoughts were interrupted when Nick leaned over to her,
"Hey, is it ok if I stay here? I brought my bag just in case. I just want to spend as much time with her as I can." Her heart swelled but only for a moment,
"I mean, I don't know when I'll see her again." She looked down as the tears built up,
"Yeah, thats fine." She stood up quickly and he asked,
"Where are you going?" She didn't bother to look back because the tears started to fall,
"Bathroom."
