GORDON HOME FRONT
On April 15, 1942 the first Gordon Home Front was published. It's intent was to be a clearing house for letters from Gordon's men in service during World War II, along with informative information concerning what was going on in Gordon at the time. It was a place where instead of trying to keep up with each other the service men all wrote to the Home Front and their letters were published and copies were sent to the service men (and women) free, and to the former Gordon residents living elsewhere for a small fee. The service was provided by Hazel Wilbar, the paper's founder. The last issue was published on August 11, 1945. It was brought to our attention that such a means of communication should be revived here on this website, thus the Gordon Home Front has been revived for all of us residents and former residents to use and enjoy free of charge.
