The Skiff
The skiff is just one of many antique powerboats still in use in Killarney, Ontario.
Affectionately called the Frizzbee in Killarney, this motor launch is the oldest fishing boat still in use on Georgian Bay. It is a Grew hull design from the turn of the 20th century, built by one of the Low family in Killarney. In the painting, the size of the boat is deceiving, in reality it is about thirty feet long with an engine covered by the box shown on the boat. I included the fishing rod and tackle box on the dock to corelate the size in the picture. If you look close at the dock you'll be able to read all the graffiti left by seasons of tourists visiting Killarney, young lovers and fishers alike.
