This is my pride and joy.
I spent 3 months building this diorama.  It is lit with fiber optics, LEDs and grain of wheat lamps.  I don't know how many hundreds of windows there are .... I think I would beat myself silly if I knew how many I drilled.  I should mention that this is not the fiber optic kit (the equipment in ERTL's fiber optic kits is cheezy, so I order my own fiber optics and lights).
There is approximately 450 ft. of fiber optic cable used in this model.

There are currently three vessels docked at the station, the
U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205 the medical frigate U.S.S. T'Prin NCC-12701
and the excelsior class starship
U.S.S. Kursk NCC-81200

There is more to come for the diorama.  An Excelsior Class starship U.S.S. Kursk, NCC-81200 and a couple of frieghters.  If I can figure out how to build it, I am going to add a Klingon Bird of Prey.

If some of these pics look familiar, you may have seen them posted at either Starship Modeler or CultTvMan -- two of the best places to find modeling information.  The U.S.S. Kursk has been added since those pics were submitted.
U.S.S. KURSK NCC - 81200 is a memorial to the sailors that drown aboard the Russian submarine Kursk on August 12, 2000.  All hands were lost after a mishandled torpedo exploded and disabled the ship.

The
Kursk was named for the Battle of Kursk, the largest armored tank battle of WWII that saw the defeat of German forces.
