He Said "But God Said"

(1)	He was led into the wilderness, He had fasted forty days, The lack of food had hungered him, He heard old Satan say; "See these stones, turn them to bread," but Jesus still declined, Then Jesus said unto him, "Now Satan, get thee behind.

(2)	Satan led Him to the mountain high, "See these kingdoms far and near, If you'll just bow before me now, I will give you what is here; All the power I will give to you, far greater than you see," He said, Go and get behind me," then Satan took his leave.

(Chorus)	He said "But God said, you can't live by bread alone, But by ev'ry word of God, and this you must have known," He said "But God Said, just haven't you heard"; Still Jesus did not waiver, but stood up on His word.
