He Didn't Come Down The Chimney

Betty S. Jordan ~ Harold Timmons

(1) The angel came to Mary and announced to the maiden fair,
That she would be the virgin, and the Son of God she would bear;
Then came the night of his arrival in a stable of low degree,
The Son of God in a manger, He didn't come down the chimney.

(2) The children wait for ole Santa and listen for sleigh bells to ring,
They wait for dancer and prancer and all the gifts they can bring;
But the greatest of presents will not come wrapped under the tree,
But was born of the Sprit, He didn't come down the chimney.

(Chorus) He didn't come down the chimney, but He came from the Father on high,
He came to a lowly stable on a clear and starlit night;
He didn't come down the chimney, but announced by angels with glee,
He did not come with reindeer, no He didn't come down the chimney.

(Tag) He was born of the Holy Spirit, He didn't come down the chimney.
