The dream of every Explo Executive is to see the successful organisation of an Explo Nite in their time. Many people are not aware of the behind the scenes hullabaloo involved in the planning of an Explo Nite of Joy. With time we have come to realise that the early forming of committees and naming of committee heads is as important as the work they do towards Explo Nite as we spend approximately 9 to 10 months preparing except vacations.
So how are the committees formed? Explo by its administrative structure operates departments/wings over which there is a sitting executive then there is also the committee which are headed by non-executives and are responsible to the executives.
The five departments of Explo are Technical Team, Organising team, Finance; General Secretariat (headed by the General Secretary and is made up of all Hall Reps/Hostel Reps, Music Directorate, Prayer, Praise & worship which also doubles as the worship team for our mother fellowship. Committees are formed around a core group of people mostly drawn from the previous year’s committee; these people are believed to have “experience” and thus help to facilitate the committee’s activities. Some committees like the Technical Team, Organising, Prayer, Choreography and Shadda (Clothing/Costume) have some standing members who are called upon from time to time and assigned duties when the need arises.
