Press Release The Bald Alice Theatre Company announces an intriguing new show by long time artistic associate Stan Peal... Peal, a veteran Twin Cities scribe and actor has birthed an incredible look at what undiscovered legends might be contained beneath the familiar words of the scripture and examines the possibilities of the world embracing the feminine part of Divinity. The Gospel of the Messiah Widow tells of the post Pentecostal journey of Mary Magdalene who joins three Goddesses on an epic quest through ocean and stars, terrorist zealots, moonlight sensuality, pagan magic, and battles with angels to reclaim paradise and lift the curse of Eden. Paul Stone, an American student on a pilgrimage through Spain, records the fevered rantings of Helene, a possessed Spanish girl who channels the miraculous story of Mary. Through the amazing account, Paul discovers that somewhere between the Word and the Impulse is balance, between God and Goddess is creation, and between myth and history is Truth. |

Emails from Audience Members (unsolicited and not from friends or family!) "I saw your Gospel of the Messiah Widow last night, Saturday. It was wonderful! ... I noticed how moved to thought and questions the women in the audience were, and the men too I am sure. Your play greatly represents the questioning thoughts that are now coursing through the minds of women all over... For the past fifteen years I have worked hard to awaken to who I really am. The content of this wonderful play was an intimate affimation of my personal pilgrimage...With Love, Marie M." "Stan and Company -- Five of our anticipated ten managed to make the show last night, and on their behalf, I simply wanted to scream: BRAVO! KUDOS & THANK YOU!!! In spite of late hour, the five of us had to head for Perkins to ground ourselves after your high-energy production. And with the level and kind of energy the Company raised in that small theater, I have no doubt that you will understand when I say that this play was one kick-ass ritual!! THANK YOU for a wonderful evening!--Lou G." "I saw your play this weekend. It was Excellent. The entire cast and crew did a phenomenal job and should be praised... My companions and I had a marvelous time and found ourselves discussing the play well into the night. Three of us being Wiccans and one being a Catholic it was interesting to hear from each others perspectives. Once again, an excellent job! Thank you! -- Keith V." |
