| Top tips Things to bring (which you may not have thought of): - Good sunglasses (you'll be wearing them pretty much every day) - Walking shoe/trainer things (don't bring boots - these are the only shoes you'll need) - Internet banking codes (so you can pay off your credit cards on the move) - A wooly hat - A triband mobile (we didn't bother, but we would if we did it again) - An International Youth Hostelling card (they're only about £14 to buy in England, and they will save you loads - especially in Oz) - A camcorder - A mix of clothes (ie. don't bring all camping clothes, or all trendy clothes - you'll need both) Don't bother with: - a money belt (if you're gonna be mugged, they're gonna find it anyway, and they're so uncomfortable) - a mosquito net (we lugged one around, and only used it twice) - a sleeping bag (the Youth Hostels won't let you use them anyway) - a coat (just lots of layers instead) - International Driving licence (just your UK one will do) - travel pillows - lots of currency/travellers' cheques (you can use ATMs practically everywhere now) Back |
