The exterior was a mess when we got it. Most of the rust on the body was just surface rust so that wasn't too bad. The worst part was the rocker pannels. They were rotted through and one of the previous owners filled both sides with expanding foam insolation. We cut them off and welded new rockers on. We needed to replace the rear cab corners, we couldn't find any anywhere so my dad made them himself.
Since the previous owner was putting a home made lift kit on it he cut a hole in the fire wall to make the stearing column fit in its original place, and bashed in the wheel wells on both driver and passanger sides so the huge tires would have clearence. |
