The Story
The Tickets (as told by Abbie):
So, you're asking how we got tickets on such short notice, huh?  Listen and learn, baby!

While on our usual Tuesday Adventure, Katie and I were dicussing the location of our next destination.  Of course me, being the wise and talented of the two, mentioned Greenville, SC.  Katie gave me a response of "No, we can't go there!  It would make us cry because we can't go to the concert."  So, later that night my sister, Jessica, was on Ebay searching for posters to bid on, and I asked her to just see if there were any Backstreet Boys tickets up for bids.  Being the loving sister that I have grown to adore, she did.  And there it was, right in my face: "Backstreet Boys Tickets 6/12...Cheap!"  I, being the loyal fan that I am, automaticaly new where the concert was on 6/12.  So, I convinced my sister to place a bid and if I won I'd pay for the tickets with my next pay check.  Needless to say, I wouldn't get my next pay check till the day before the concert, and the tickets would come COD before that day.  So knowing this, I  also persuaded her to loan me the money and I would pay her back as soon as I got my check.      Yes, I know you're thinking, What was this girl smoking? But just hold on, it get's... well it was better for the winning and worse for the punishing.  My starting bid was for $75 for 2 tickets 20th row from the stage.  That's right,  $75 for 2.  And for the rest of that night no one out bid me.  I woke up the next morning thinking, "I am so not gonna win that bid. Ha! What a joke!"  So I got on the internet and look on ebay to see how i was doing.  Out bid by a dollar.  I'm thinkin' "OMG!" I bid again.  But this time the other person had a max bid over what I bid.  So I bid up to $112.50.  For about 2 hours I was winning.  Then that same person bid against me again.  So I wasn't going to let them out bid me.  It was kinda like an easter egg hunt,  you know that the prize egg is out there and if you find it, you get a big prize.  I wasn't gonna give the prize egg away.  So, I bid again, and again untill my bid out bid their max bid.  By this time there was only about half an hour till the auction ended.  Then it hit me... Mama's gonna KILL me!! And DADDY'S GONNA BRING ME BACK TO LIFE AND DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!  So, I started to worry.  But hey, there was still half an hour and I had only bid $122.50, maybe they would bid $2.50 more.  But time grew closer, and closer, and finally, it was over.  I won! I won... but the question of the day was... Would I live to see it?
Well as you can tell, I lived... I'm not going to get into the detail of my painful ordeal of telling my parents, you have all you need to know.

The Day Of (as Told By Katie):
Well, The day of the concert was pretty much rush, rush, rush! We finally found an adult chaperone to take us to Greenville. Abbie's mom, Mrs. Kris, is the greatest! The route to Greenville we decided to take went by Abbie's house, not mine.  (We live about 45 miles apart, yet in the same county. Hey, it's Georgia.) Anyway, I had to get up at like 8:00 in the morning to bathe, pack and drive to Abbie's by 11:00.  Like I said, rush, rush, rush!  So, I got there, we pottied before we left and we were off! Abbie's Grandma went along too! You can see her in one of the pictures in our "Greenille Pictures" section.  So, in the Focus we drove to Greenville.
While on the way to our destination, Abbie and I listened to some retro BSB tunes, along with the new stuff.  Actually, on the way to Greenville is where we finished and wrote down
"
I Need Food Tonight".  Upon arriving, we checked into the hotel and got dressed for the concert. We were out of te hotel by 4:30.  We located the Bi-Lo center, where the concert was to be held and from there, we walked to Coffee Street and found a nice little Fuddrucker's to eat at.  By the time we ate and everything, it was about 6:00.  We had an hour and a half to go.  We walked back over to the Bi-Lo Center and situated ourselves on the steps.  We sat there for about an hour.  (see the picture in the "Greenville Pictures" section.) They finally started letting people in the doors at like 7:20.  We finally got up and got in line to get in the doors.  We handed the guy our tickets and he pointed us in the direction to FLOOR SEATS :)  We found our seats with little or no trouble. We sat.  We waited.  We talked.  We waited.  We laughed at the folks that came out and said something about a half eaten pop-tart.  We thought of Lance's mistaken french toast (sorry, little N Sync thing, there).

The Show (Katie again):

Finally, the lights went down and Krystal came out.  She was pretty good, but we'd seen her before and we weren't that interested (sorry).  As she began singing "SuperGirl", I looked at Abbie and thought about what a wonderful flavor my gum still had after two hours.  Ironically, she was thinking the same thing.  It was damn good gum! I have no clue what kind it was, but it was tasty!
After Krystal, we sat some more.  We waited some more.  We talked some more.  And, of course, we waited even more.  (Ya know, you wait more at BSB concerts than you do anything else).  We were looking around and thinking "Where the POO is the catwalk thing they walk across?"  We looked up.  It was practically on top of us.  We began to get a tad bit excited. *understatement*  They would be like less than 10 feet away! "Wowie like Howie!!"
FINALLY, the lights went down and the earth was hit by giant meteorites from above.  That was cool as Hell. I got a great pic of the earth being destroyed.  Finally, THEY came out of the stage on rising pedistals in a cloud of thick smoke.  Lord, it was a wonderful moment!  And then the screaming began!  If you're looking for details about the actual concert, look elsewhere.  This is about US! "More Than That" was so beautiful it made me cry.  That's right, I wept.  I wept like a baby.  It was beautiful.  Aaahhh....the memories. Anyway, halfway through the concert, one of the cameras died.  It was the only non-disposable comera we had.  We could have cried (again)! Abbie finally tore out one of those metal things out of a hair brush and fixed the camera.  Just in time for "Time".  If you don't know, "Time" is when they get on the catwalk.  We were saved! YAY!  Now, this is where we got REALLY happy.  Can you say THREE FEET?!?!  OMG! I could not believe how close I was to Nick! I could see the pimples on his face!  We were both snappin' pictures like crazy. Abbie got the best ones.  Actually, right after Abbie took the picture of Nick, he looked at us.  I mean RIGHT AT US! I think it was the flash or something.  It was the moment of my life, though.  Kevin pointed at the little girl in front of us.  We didn't get any pictures of Kevin.  We here at Got Funny? don't really like Kevin.  We think he's a controlling wierdo who can't dance.  We respect him and everything, he's just not our Backstreet Boy of choice.  Oh well.  Anyway, the rest is kinda redundant.  You know the drill: they sang, they danced, they looked sexy....the whole deal.  The concert ended at like um....I have no idea what time.  After the concert, we bought souvenier pictures of the Boys and left the arena.  It was over. Aww....we know, it's the worst part of the concert.

The Aftermath (Katie again?):
Back at the hotel, we went almost straight to bed. We were tired!  The next morning, we got up and got dressed.  We planed to go to Toccoa, GA, Where Abbie grew up to visit the Falls.  We did that.  The Falls were really neat-o mosquito.  I guess it meant alot more to Abbie than it did me, cause that was where she grew up.  But it WAS pretty damn cool.  We got to Athens and stopped to get the pictures developed and eat at mine and Abbie's favorite place.  We got the pictures developed (see the picture page again).  We had 6 rolls of film.  It cost us nearly $60 to get them all developed.  It was well worth it.  The pictures turned out great and wonderful "andstufflikethat".  When we got to Abbie's house, we divided the pictures into two piles: Aj and Nick.  The AJ's went to Abbie. The Nick's were MINE!  We scanned some of the pictures and of course, put them here. Yeah...you know where to go to see  'em.  Well, that's about all I have to tell about our little trip.  It was the night of a lifetime.  I would like to thank Nick Carter for looking right at us...that SO made my day.  And for being so....Nick.  He's the most perfect man on earth. I promise.  Sorry Abbie, you let me write this part. It's your own fault.  Okay, okay...thank you to AJ too.  Abbie loves you, man! But watch your back...she's kinda nutty...(J/K). Also, a big thanks to Howard.  We love Howard.  We do.  We really do.  And "Hello" to Brian. *waving with both hands*. And to Kevin....um....okay...without you, BSB would not be possible. I admit it.  You're pretty cool.  Just stop trying to dance like AJ! You just can't do it. I promise.  I've seen you try.  And a HUGE Thank You and We Love You to Abbie's entire family! We SO owe this trip to you!
Okay, guys, that's it for this trip.  Pray for us to get to go again! Thanks for reading all about our little excursion! Stay tuned to Got Funny? for more Tuesday Adventures!
