I had no idea what Fawkes would look like until I was sketching the first page of my doujinshi... and out came this! On my first try! I hadn't even meant to draw an acurate picture, just a quick sketch. Even though I was already planning the doujinshi by the time this sketch came out, this is when I truely fell in love with Fawkes. Ain't he adorable?

Sigh. The memories. Sitting at the Fourth of July Parade yet unable to watch because I was so preoccupied with Fawkes. And out came this sketch. Fawkes sitting atop my (Lor's) head. I may make this the cover of "Innocent Fangirl"... Hmm...

Fawkes the Goth!Fenix

Fawkes the Goth!Fenix, the one who started it all... My muse, my creation, and (coincidentally) myself. Insult my beloved and you insult me - prepare to face your death!

Fawkes, like all goth!fenixes, loves black, death, and sarcasm. Created in a freak accident involving Lor's research into phoenixes and the mythology of the Iriquois Native Americans, and resulting in a rather burnt computer, Fawkes the Goth!Fenix is Fawkes the Phoenix's evil twin (although he may disagree with you on that).

He has had adventures in both worlds. [Que Shameless Self-Plug] Installment #1 of the Goth!Fenix Series, "Harry Potter and the Stray Mary Sue", features Fawkes' adventures in the Harry Potter world as Harry Potter and Co. attempt to thwart the malevolence of the sinister Mary Sue. In Installment #2, "Harry Potter and the Innocent Fangirl," Harry ironically makes no appearances. Instead, "The Innocent Fangirl," prologue to "Mary Sue" takes place in the "real world." Between the "pages" of this doujinshi, many mysteries will be solved. How did Fawkes come to be in the Harry Potter world? Where did Mary Sue come from? Why is The Author's name Fawkes, too? Aren't two Fawkeses in one series enough? Isn't ONE enough? [/Shameless Self-Plug]

Inexplicably cute, Fawkes the Goth!Fenix has won the hearts of many-a-fan... er... at least of myself. We eagerly await more of the beloved Fawkes!

I use this as my AIM icon. Feel free to do the same.

I made this picture even before I got the idea for Goth!Fenix, and it doesn't look much like him either, but still, it's cool. I played around on my computer with my drawing of Fawkes the Phoenix to get this.
