| Hey kiddies, so I was thinking about this great idea. A paper pen pal/d.i.y skillshare zine. See, there's all this stuff available *online* but what about if you're not always able to get online? Or what if you're tired of sitting at your computer day in day out and not feeling like you're really contributing to anything? Well, that's where *this* comes in. This project would involve lots of submissions from d.i.y minded kids like *you*. Submissions such as recipes, d.i.y instructions for various crafty things, zine/distro advertising, rants/raves, pen pal profiles (if you're interested in finding some snail mail pen pals), zine/book/album reviews, d.i.y health/wellness tips, essays on critical thinking, revolution, self-sustainence, bike repair, life= art, art= life, and other things like that. Also, interviews are *quite* welcome, if you are a zinester, distro kid or d.i.y crafty kid and are interested in being interviewed let me know and it shall be done! If you wanna send in yr own interviews you're welcome to as well ;) As far as the pen pal ad aspect of it your pen pal ads can be up to 10 lines long (not including your mailing address/other contact info) and would preferrably not be "romantic" in nature. If you want to find romance well then you might just have to look somewhere else. I would prefer that if possible the old fashioned way of snail mail be honored and if you decided to put in an ad for pen pals that you include your PO BOX or whatever. you need not write your full name if you feel weary about it OR you could even make up a *rad* alias/pen name! Recipes would focus on the easy-to-make, budget, and/or vegan/vegetarian diet based recipes. Drink recipes also welcome. Zine/book/album reviews would include contact information and yeah, the rest is pretty much self-explanatory. I want this zine/newsletter to be a safe place for all races/ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations/sexual identities and people of all shapes and sizes and ages. Once this has a regular submission rate it will come out as often as possible, hopefully making it into a bi-monthly or quarterly released sort of zine. I'm planning for this to be a sort of long range project and I am *totally* willing to accept suggestions/ideas to expand my original idea. PLease submit because I *know* this can turn into something really rad if people actually contribute. This is the perfect opportunity for you to speak your mind, promote your projects, reach out and meet new people without the aid of this interactive idiot box we've come to rely on so.... | This will be the cover only it'll be in black and white. I'm also thinking i'll pick a colored paper to use again and have those as limited edition copies. This'll be available for a donation of between 50 cents and $3.00, Canadian stamps, or a TRADE of your d.i.y creation.
