THE BOY FROM THE BAY A small town boy Still finding his way Reflects on his life Growing up in the bay The walks on the beach The swims in the surf Always making the most Of his time on this earth Often finding new ventures And making new trends Starts building up memories Of times with his friends He dreams of a journey Along coastline and sand And plans start to form For a trek of our land Setting fourth for adventure With his pack on his back He takes a companion To walk the long track The journey will last For many a week Still onward he travels His dog at his feet The journey is hard And it’s taking its toll The harshness and loneliness Made him turn and go home His life was to change Once again he would roam But this time it was far Not the place known as home He remains there today Still in touch with his friends Fulfilling his dreams Till he comes home again |
