Story of our Birth and NICU Pictures
On Friday, May 26, I went in for a routine ultrasound.  So far my pregnancy had been pretty normal.  During my ultrasound, they found that twin A (Christian) had very little fluid surrounding him.  I was immediately admitted to the hospital for monitoring.

I was given steroid shots to help the twins lungs develop, since I was only 33 1/2 weeks pregnant.

On Sunday morning, during a regular monitor check, the nurses found that the babies were in distress.  I was four centimeters dialated already, but there was no time for labor.  I was rushed to the OR and an emergency c-section was performed.

When I woke up about ten minutes later, my parents were already there. My sons had been born and rushed into the NICU.  My dad said that I had to give them names, so I named twin A, Christian and twin B, Jared.  I hadn't even seen them yet.

I was wheeled into see them an hour after they were born.  They were both so tiny.  Christian weighed only 3lbs 7 oz and Jared weighed 4 lbs 10 oz.  They were already hooked up to a bunch of machines and tubes.  Even with all that, they were perfect.  It was very scary, but they were finally here after months of waiting, planning and trying to imagine what they would look like.

Jared Stayed in the NICU for 2 weeks and Christian stayed for 4 weeks.

After a rocky beginning, both my boys are doing great and are healthy and happy.
