Defining Moments '02 |
1.
Scorpz Donation |
Because these awards were done a little too early, we did
not originally plan on having anything added at the last
minute. The $120 for the site was enough to knock out our
original #5, which was the entire Survivor 3 season. It will
allow for more gold and opens an early Version 8.0. |
|
2.
Hacked! |
It
was a normal Saturday morning, when all was well until I
loaded up GPF and all that appeared was a blank page.
Luckily for us, the hacker left it so s/he could not be
traced and that allowed us to gain back access. |
|
3.
GPF Version 6.0/7.0 |
Both Versions came along with much hyped about talk. The
first was based on digitalremix's and my own thoughts on the
design for GPF. The second time around, it was purely all
placed on the member. |
|
4.
Simple Support Contest |
Through the efforts of our dedicated members, GPF was able
to win a contest against the very popular KFX--granting us a
$30 prize. |
|
5.
Member Loss |
With Ezboards new update, it also brought along a nasty bug
that made boards across several pubs lose their member
count, ours included. |

The Station
> Best of GPF 2002 |
One
thing you may notice about this year's awards is the lack of
them. There is a simple explanation for that... 1) we want these
awards to be more prestigious to those few who win them and 2)
we did not want to dish out several awards half the people who
come across this site will even care about. In closing, GPF has
had an exciting year of ups and downs--and it appears we are
heading into an up with the help of the holiday season. We will
be opening a topic about this in Feedback & Helpdesk for you to
reflect on this year and the awards given out. |
Forum of the Year |
|
It's the forum
everyone loves to hate but since its debut on January 15,
2002, it has attracted enough posts and visits to make it
worthy of our coveted award for Forum of the Year. With some
innovate games, to downright spam, Ezgames looks like it
will have a long forum life. |

Forum of the Year |
|
After the urging of RPG forum
from linhnhl and company, the forum has turned into a news
center for all RPG's available on the market. It has one of
the most diverse bunch to ever grace a certain part of the
forums and it is sure to do the same this coming year. |

Feature of the Year |
|
Version 7.0 brought along
several features and instead of pinpointing one certain one,
we are honoring the update altogether as a feature. Along
with it, we saw the arrival of the Contests forum, the Email
Center, and features Ezboard added in. |

Male Member of the Year |
Arkmaster87 has been a huge
posting member this past year but in many ways, a helpful
contributor to our community. He offered to pay for gold
once (though that plan fell through) and he has suggested
many features to improve the life of the forums--most
recently the idea of scheduling chats. |

Female Member of the Year |
Winning the award for Female
Member of the Year is not as competitive as the male
category... go figure. Angelgirl2070 emerged as one of the
few female members who consistently posts. |

Best Personal Photo/Signature |
Customization is in, and that
is why the top two honors for this category went to those
members who pushed their avatar a bit further to let
everyone know--this is who I am. This is the second year PJC
has walked away with this award, winning previously with
Squall's bloody face last year. |
