Baskin Robins Treat -
1.8.02 |
Keli
figured out three puzzles over Van and Vi (May was absent due to
illness), winning a $2 gift certificate to Baskin Robins. Whether
her teammates will resent her for winning will all be seen next week
in the second to last immunity challenge. |

Yearbook Immunity Challenge -
12.18.02 |
After
winning her second reward challenge, Van barely won her first
immunity challenge by one answer. The Survivors were required to
use an old yearbook for reference to answer several questions.
The first round caused a tie between Keli, Van, and Vi. After a
tie breaker question, Vi was eliminated, thereby causing another
tiebreaker round where the Survivors were asked to list the top
amusement parks. Van won that challenge and took home immunity. |

Taboo Toss Shakes
Things Up -
12.9.02 |
 After
the Survivors chose their partners for double immunity, it was the
pair that chose each other first that walked away with victory. In
the first round of the challenge, the pairs had to race against the
clock and each other to determine who would make it to the finals.
For one minute trials, Van and Arnold and Eli and Keli accumulated
the highest score, leaving May and Vi out of the running for
immunity. In the next round, the Survivors were racing against the
other team's physical ability. Once both Survivors could toss a
penny on a red bandana far away, the other team, who at the same
time were playing Taboo, must stop accumulating points. After two
tiring rounds, Keli and Eli earned more points over their
competitors and thus won immunity. |

Take Fate In Their Own Hands -
12.9.02 |
|
The Survivors voted on how the next voting
procedure would be handled, ranking their most favorite to least
favorite choice. This will be the final twist of the season and
could ultimately change the rest of the game. Among the choices
were: |
1. The winner of immunity would have
the power to nominate two castaways to be voted out. |
2. The Survivors form two temporary tribes
and compete for tribal immunity. |
3. The Survivors pair up with the person
they choose and compete for dual immunity. |
After the first round of voting, choice 2
and 3 were deadlocked. Then, a vote of 4-2 declared this round
as a dual immunity week. The next interesting point was the
Survivors choosing a person to pair up with. Things did not go
over well, as the Survivors struggled with choosing teammates.
Keli and Eli agreed to their pairing, while the pairing of Van,
May, Arnold and Vi took much more thinking. How will this affect
the end game? Find out on Thursday's episode of Survivor 3. |

Penny
Quiz Recap -
12.5.02 |
Vi
and Keli each won an additional penny before the game
started. Because Chris and Eli could not participate,
they chose Vi, Van, and Arnold to take their coin
after the group voted on whether the three "anonymous"
people at the time should receive them. Some were not
up and arms over the decision though, but could not
beat the majority. Here are some of the highlights,
some of which led to Vi's victory. |
Arnold arrives late to
the challenge, and others point that out the first
round, in which Vi, Keli, May, and Van took all of his
coins. Quite inconspicuous if you ask me. That was
sarcasm if you did not catch it. Arnold foreshadowed
his fate when he mentioned, "Ahhh I am the only guy." |
With all girls left, the
targets for the subsequent questions were based on who
had the most pennies left. The girls tried to make it
even out, but then things got ugly. |
Keli is the first of the
girls removed from the game. Strategy, pecking order,
what could it mean? |
Van jokingly reminds
everyone of May's past immunity wins. |
Van takes away May's last
coin to prevent her immunity streak and Vi and Van
duke it out 2 pennies to 1. After Van noticed an error
that could have won her the game, Vi takes Van's final
coin and is the victor! |

All You Need To Know About This Week's
Immunity Challenge -
12.2.02 |
This upcoming challenge on Thursday after
the Key Club Meeting will test your retention. All the
information you need to succeed in the game will be based on
your knowledge of the very things on this site. For example, one
question that may be asked is: how many total Survivors are
there (this won't be asked since it's too easy)?
But the game has much more depth than
that. Each Survivor will have 3 pennies, each representing their
life in the challenge. Every person that answers a question
correctly will be able to "take" one of their pennies. Once a
player runs out of pennies, they are eliminated from the
challenge. Since Vi and Keli were the only two who remembered to
do the Password Challenge, they will start off with 4 pennies
instead of 3. Even if a person is "eliminated" from the game,
they still complete their turn if they have an opportunity to
take away someone's pennies. The person who still has pennies or
a penny in possession after all others will win.
Here's a test run: How many Survivors
are there? 14
Only Jackie and Jason got it right.
Both David's and Inho answered incorrectly. Jackie takes a coin
from David L. and Jason takes one from Inho. David L. and
Inho now only have 2 coins. Next question and the same people
get it right. The twosome decided to take all of David L.'s
coins, thus eliminating him from the game. |

Who Is Getting Voted Out Next Analysis -
11.16.02 |
This coming week's vote seems
to be one of the most interesting yet, seemingly because those
remaining in the game have either a) been fully active b) have not
created huge waves (in terms of drama in the game). However, there
seems to be a few signs that may point in the direction of those
whose boot may come very soon.
Incumbents:
Those who have played the game before know how
it works so it is only best that they sit across from an incumbent
in the jury instead of in the final 2. Former players may just
target each other this week. Fewer threats = a better chance of
winning. Two of the four have been
voted out because of their role in previous games.
Personalities:
The diverse personalities playing in the
game may be a reason a person may rack up enough votes to get the
boot. As we observed in Tribal Council #2, Thanh received a vote on
the basis that this person did not know her. It could come down to
who one hangs out with the least that will determine this week's
boot. The David's stirred up trouble by
playing the game the way that they did. Jackie was caught up in a
rumor.
Voting History:
Because of some players failure to conceal
votes, those who know more than others will rally friends against
another person. It's the classic mode for revenge, voting off the
person that once tried to get rid of you.
David's didn't vote certain ways in previous
games and it was used against them in this one. Others unveiled
their votes and that swayed the decision in most of the boots.
Alliances:
People are claiming to play the game honestly
but we are very aware of the existence of alliances. The thing that
will make the difference between who stays and who goes is who has
the strong alliance. We have speculated of a boys and girls alliance
(which seems apparent after reading reasons why people are voting
off others), but sub-alliances are going to come into play much more
this week. Each voted out almost
received a majority of votes.
Skill:
The immunity challenge for this week all
depends on everyone's skill to decipher messages as to lead them to
the location of an item that will grant immunity. Whoever wins will
be safe of course and will change the direction of the vote is this
person was originally at the top of the list to go.
Simple...you win, you stay.

The Fall of David T. -
11.16.02 |
Voting
out David T. could prove costly as it was responsible for him
revealing a shocking revelation to other cast members. Now one
Survivor is evaluating the actions of another, but is it enough to
get this person votes? David T. said, "without me, there will
be no drama" a day after his dismissal but it still looks as though
clashing personalities still exist in the game. As one person stated
for the upcoming Tribal Council, "I am going to vote for the most
annoying." The other highlight of this week were people speculating
who voted for who. It has gotten to the point where it is becoming a
witch hunt of some sort. With this next vote coming up, it appears
that the factions, if there are any, will go head to head with each
other meaning that the stragglers will play a big part on who is
leaving this week. |

Random Update #1
-
11.12.02 |
Of those remaining in the game, a third of the tribe has
accused the host of shady dealings in an effort to get those he is not
pleased out of the game. To those people... I am not! Hehe... we all saw
what happened once David L. commented on the tribe names.
One tribe member accuses another of going to K-mart to
buy Mandu. Are these accusations true and will the others find out this person
is smuggling food into this game if it is true? Several members deal with getting called
obese. Will the name calling and bullying be enough for these people to take
the whole game?Four out of five Survivors shift their original position. How will this change the dynamic of the
entire game? The sweltering heat is taking a toll on the Survivors. How
long will they be able to endure the tough conditions of California?A
former tribe member tries to change the rest of the game...

The game of Survivor is no longer a team game,
but an individual one. Competitions will be based mostly on
individual efforts and all members will participate in Tribal
Council unless told otherwise. All members voted out from this point
on will become members of the jury. The responsibility of this panel
is to determine who played the game the best and should be declared
Sole Survivor for season 3. It is important NOT to assume anything
or it could lead to your own departure. |

IC #3: Precision Leads to Success
-
11.10.02 |

Keli, the lone female of Chosau, and May,
the recently switched Chosau member, both walked away with
immunity for their participation in this week's challenge. The
Survivors were required to rip a pattern out so it matches the
master copy as seen
here.
Keli only competed with Chris, as Eli and Arnold were absent due
to club duties. The other side experienced something much
different, with all in attendance but David L. In this week's
challenge, the Survivors psyched each other out, playing mind
games with one another as they slowly ripped their paper. Two
individuals raised their voice at each other and some physical
contact followed shortly after. The game is heating up even in
this cold weather. The Survivors also learned that this week's
voting will allow opposite tribe members to vote for one
another, changing the way people vote once again. |

Tribal Shake Up/Reward Challenge #2: Three on Each Side
Switched!
-
10.29.02 |
Twenty nine days later,
the Survivors have another curve ball thrown at them. They
spent their time fighting among themselves, but now, they will have
to learn to adapt to a new tribe, one they previously dubbed the
"enemy" or face the consequences of the vote. Together, they
will have to work as a team and continue to compete in tribal
challenges, which are more important than ever.
The second reward challenge, due
Friday
at 4:00 pm,
will give you a chance to take fate in your own hands. The challenge
is to find out who said or is involved in each of the comments on
the left. There are four answers:
Jackie,
Jason,
James or all of the above. The person that gets the most correct
(guess per question) will win this reward. If there is a tie,
another question will be asked of the people who are tied. The
reward: to make one transaction between players of opposite tribes. |

IC #2 Halloween Week
-10.20.02 |
Part 1: Who is that Ghost?
Each of the pictures at this
LINK above have been altered so their real identity mirrors
that of a ghost. Your goal is to identify each of the celebrities
above. Submit answers in tribe forum. Once both tribes submit
their answers, only the team who has the correct answer the other
team failed to get will receive a point.
Part 2: Halloween Picture Puzzle
Several pictures will be placed side by side which should give you
clues as to what the Halloween word spells out. Sometimes, excess
words such are given, but its your job to decide what part of the
word stays, and what part of it goes and also determine the most
important aspect of the image. There are a total of eight puzzles,
and they can be accessed in the following links below. Submit
answers in your tribe forum (make sure to label them). For every
two correct responses, the tribe receives 1 point.

Part 3: Trick or Treat
In the
Survivor General forum, there will be two threads, one for
Ranues and one for Chosau. The goal of the game is to alternate
each post, one saying TRICK, the other saying TREAT. Once a
different player has posted, you are free to post again. The goal
of this game is to collect more "candy" than the opposing team in
a successive manner. However, the other team can come in at any
time and post in the opposite team's thread to ruin the chain.
Chains can also be broken if the word is spelled wrong, the same
person posts twice, or the incorrect word is posted. The team with
the longest chain of TRICKS and TREATS will win 5 points. Since
Chosau has an
extra player, one person cannot participate in the challenge.
The tribe with the most points by
Sunday, October 27, 6:00 pm
will win immunity for their tribe and
will not have to go to Tribal Council and vote out a member. If
there is a tie, it will be based on who received their points
first. Tribal Council votes must be sent in by
Monday, October 28, 1:40 pm. |

IC #1: Homecoming Week
-
10.20.02 |
Part 1: Pick the Queen(s)
In the spirit of Homecoming, our first challenge centers around
queens, quite fitting don't you think? Your task: to identify the
gender of each numbered picture above. The order in which you will
answer each puzzle is based on the order you appear in the tribe
alphabetically (e.g. ONLY
David L.
and
Andrea will be
able to answer question #1, etc.). If a person answers their
puzzle correctly, they will earn a point for their team. No
penalty for answering incorrectly.
Click
link to view.
Part 2: Nominations
Everyone knows the importance of getting nominations, and that
is exactly what you will have to do. In the main Survivor forum,
only players outside of the game will have the opportunity to
"nominate" your tribe. The person must specify the team they
are voting for in the nomination post. For every ten nominations,
the tribe will receive a point. The person must have an account
that was created before September 1, 2002.
Part 3: Football Count
The last part of your challenge consists of estimating the
number of footballs in the image on your right. Then after a
number is established, a chain of posts must be created to get to
the number of footballs seen. For example, if you guessed 15
footballs are in the picture, one person would post: 1, someone
else 2, and someone else 3. No person can post again until two
different people go after them. The team that completes this
challenge will receive 2 points. This challenge is to be done in
your private tribe forums.
Click
link to view.
The tribe with the most points by
Sunday, October 20, 5 pm
will win immunity for their tribe and
will not have to go to Tribal Council and vote out a member. If
there is a tie, it will be based on who received their points
first. |

Tribes Ranues and Chosau Born; Tempers Flare
-
10.04.02 |
The
tribes were chosen based on the order they drew their tribe
colors... however, due to complications (posts its for Tribe
Ranues
were stuck together), the old method of choosing tribes was
abandoned. Instead, a random selection was made shifting members
all around again. This was in an attempt to allow everything to
start off fair... emphasis on FAIR.
Among
some of the stories headlining the pre-episode of Survivor is
David
L.'s
choice of words when he was not warmly welcomed by his teammates.
For your first challenge, fill in the blank _U_K and that's about
what he said. That was a joke by the way... will he get the
revenge against the tribe formerly known as
Chosau?
In
another development, physical confrontation occurred between
THANHting
Thanh
and
David
Tran in the hallways earlier this week. She gave him a light shove
over an apparent misunderstanding but will that push
David T.
over the edge and try to get rid of her?
In
the last of this week's recap, the VC girls hold a quick meeting
and head for the tribe selection ceremony. What will happen to
their relationship after they are on the same tribe and is an
alliance brewing?
And
even before the game has officially begun, Survivors
Inho

ability to compete in challenges? The same goes for
Andrea,

Pre-Show Analysis: Popularity Contest Turns Nasty
-
10.01.02 |
What
would a Survivor season be without a lil drama? Boring! But you
can guarantee that tensions are running high as the castaways
worry about the tribal selection. No one knows how it will work,
and many are scared that it will change their game plan. Eight
total players have participated in the previous seasons, making
them feel like targets, but the way this season works, no one is
safe.
So
far, plotting has taken shape as players reflect the person they
feel will be the first person to go. Nothing more than the :-\ was
given when asked who one would vote for in the first round
(assuming that is how things will work this time around... hehe).
Jealousy or resentment has taken course as well. One player
reflects on the popularity poll: "cuz, thas loserish.. haha! id
rather stay at zero." In any case, we can expect quite a season
from a colorful cast of characters. Stay tuned. |

Let The Games Begin!

9.30.02 |
And so another saga begins as 12 castaways
from Rancho Alamitos embark on a journey in a test to see who
can outplay, outwit, and outlast each other to become the
Ultimate Survivor. Each Friday, the players will be forced to
vote out one another after competing for immunity, granting that
person or tribe exempation from the vote. 11 players will be
voted until only one remains. Who will it be...? |
