the . . . GPO . . . is . . . the U.S. Government Printing Office This site is a fun place for GPO retirees, workers and their families |
The GPO today supplies printing and electronic publications for the Government and the public. ~~ We are united past employees, united even today, who were dedicated "craftpersons" gathered from all corners of the United States. Who stayed with the craft as printers and masterfully transformed those positions into the new electronic age. ~~~~ Welcome to the Has-Beens' place stay and visit all remaining Issues. |

~ NOTE: I wrote the above over and over again, but few words can not describe how professional printers were throughout the trade.
~ The Printers of the GPO Composing Division were the first to establish the forty hour workweek, which the nation followed.
~ The Printers of the GPO Composing Division were the first to negotiate a union bargaining contract for its employees in any Government agency.

The Home Page site of the GPO "Has-Beens" was examined fully by the Yahoo GeoCities---- "Heartland Critique and Review Committee." The results were given to me on February 18, 2000 with an "Excellent" rating on all Issues viewed up to that time.. They presented the personalized graphic from the Heartland They expressed a great favorable review and gave one. suggestion which they hoped I would follow .... They wanted to know who and what are the GPO Has-Beens and ask if I would publish a cover sheet explaining. |
