ACHERON -- LAWFUL NEUTRAL EVILOrcs archer

Gate-town: Rigus. It is a huge permanent militar camp. The town is made of seven concentric stone city walls on a side of a hill. The smallest (the central and higher one) city wall is called the Crown. The gate: it lays far underground but rumors say that there's in the Crown a several miles long staircase leading to the portal: a twisted lump of a gray-green light similar to a cat's eye.

Conflict, war, struggle and battle, that's all there is on Acheron. This plane is always associated with the clang and clash of metal against metal. Partially this comes from the eternal striking of sword against shield and blade against blade. But it also comes from the sound of the gigantic iron cubes clashing each other.

Acheron's four layers consists of these iron cubes, which float through an infinite, air filled void. Some cubes are small, but others are huge enough to hold entire cities or kingdoms. The cubes continually move and sometimes collide, ringing a toll of disaster for anyone standing on one of the clashing faces. They are also riddled with caverns and tunnels, providing more space to marshal forces and fight battles. Using special gates or spells makes possible the travel between these cubes.

Acheron is the home of the orc and goblin deities. These powers send their petitioners into continual battles for dominance. Avalas, the first layer of the plane, is the most populated and it is also where most of the battles goes on. There are fortresses and towns throughout, but essentially it's a layer of battlefields.

The second layer, Thuldanin, is of more interest to planewalkers. It's the final resting place for more weapons and more types of weapons than a cutter is ever going to imagine. Scavenging for intact weapons can be a valuable undertaking; many of great quality and fantastic power can be found and used, or at least copied. But pay attention, anything staying too long on this layer turns to stone.

The third and fourth layers of Acheron, Tintibulus and Ocanthus, aren't much visited, so the chant remains dark. A few say that a huge city on Ocanthus is home to a powerful, isolated race, but this has never been confirmed.
